I used to love a wee dram of Whisky every now and then and do miss it, even though I used it in my suicide attempt in 2020. I was considering Alcohol Free Versions but hear bad reviews. I take Diazepam 3 times a day, Mirtazapine at night. Quetiapine at night, 900mg of Gabapentin 3 times a day and Nefopam 3 times a day. I was considering just having the odd wee dram here and there at night but I’m very wary of the side affects of it interacting with my medications.

Are there any neurochemical effects? Like that feeling of ur brain rattling when you miss a dose (idk what it's called)

I’m about to turn 21 in 12 days and I would love to drink with my buddy that turned 21 a couple of months ago we had this huge party for me planned to hit up some bars but then out of no where this anxiety and depression hit me would it be ok to just drink for a day and then quit

I started taking Zoloft to help my anxiety after moving away from my friends and family. I don’t drink often but I do enjoy going to the bars and getting drunk. I’m aware of the mental risk from mixing Zoloft and alcohol but is there any physical risk I should be concerned about. I don’t want to drop to the floor and my heart stop beating if I have 1 too many drinks

So its not a drug interaction? Its just not good for a depressed person to take a depressant but a person taking an SSRI for anxiety and mild depression is ok in moderation.

My dilemma is I start feeling good on antidepressants then I feel like going out and then I want to drink!

It’s more about what you take the medication for. If it is for depression, NO. If it is for anxiety, you’re absolutely fine unless you get blackout

I take cipralex and only side effect with combining it with alcohol is that I get drunk really easy, like from two beers.

As someone who takes lexapro just avoid it your tolerance is fucked trust me don’t do something stupid

I regret drinking I bashed my head in on a metal chair by accident afterwards never again.

Drank 22 shots a couple weeks back on ssri's my tolerance didn't change I guess and didn't experience much side effects (I'm taking only 50mg though) but the next day was crap not so much physicaly but mentally my mood was super low all day
