The first movie is really intense world building, as you said it’s a slow burn. It’s still interesting and makes you wonder about its universe while saving all of the bread and butter for the second one. 2nd movie, for me, was dope, everything I wanted it to be. I love the directorial choices in both movies, but the 2nd movie has far better pacing. For the caption aspect when they are speaking in the fictional languages, I think it sticks out and the dialogue resonates with you more rather than just hearing it. Almost like you’re reading it from a page, maybe a little nod to the books? I respect your opinions though, keep it up !

I also wanted to add: For me, these 2 movies and the books, are all just commentary on War, following charismatic leaders, and how faith can be used as a manipulative tool by corrupted leaders (like what we’re seeing in todays reality).I think Denis Villenueve does an excellent job carrying out these themes into his films and put a lot of justice from Frank Herbert’s books

I really loved these movies. They’re both around 8.5 out of 10 for me. The visuals are amazing! Especially compared to a lot of modern blockbusters. The story itself is a little slow, but I was invested in the characters enough to make the longer scenes interesting. Part of that is the performances. I agree that Chalamet really grew with the character. I would normally have a hard time buying him as a powerful leader, but he did a good job here. I can’t really put it on the level of all-time great movies at this point, but I can honestly say I really liked it. In summery, it was one of the best movies to come out in recent memory, but I can’t put it on the level of an all-time movie like The Godfather, The Shinning, ETC. great video Rob!

Ain't nobody got time for that. Okay the book is important, but it was boring as heck. I just don't have time for seven hours of this onscreen. And I say that as someone who's seen Lawrence of Arabia dozens of times.
