Thanks for these ideas. I’m not a real happy person (suffer from depression, anxiety and health issues) but on the other hand I’m not an unhappy person either. I’m very thankful to people that help me and also for the things that I have and can do myself. I’m not rich, but I have enough to live on and there are so many people that are worse off. But I am a real worrier, I always see lions and bears on my road ahead and although most of the time things go smoothly I just keep worrying. It would be nice to be able to let go of that 😅.

"I'm skeptical". That made me smile. 😂 That's so much better than my husband's "no way, no how" comments!!!

My personal motto is “Choose Happy”. I truly believe in a lot of cases it’s a choice you make. There can be tiny decisions made that impact this. (Disclaimer: I am fully aware it is not always as easy as a choice depending on health issues etc) A perfect example is that I just left a job after a long time. Found out they are about to hire someone to replace me. My husband says “wonder what they are going to pay them?” I have zero desire to even know. Why? What good would come from that other than to be insulted or hurt if they pay them more? I just don’t see any reason to make myself unhappy about something I have zero control over.

Moms are resilient! Life throws up curved balls and we have to learn. I don't know about you but we do feel responsible for our family's wellness so resilience is key :-) My daughters taught me to stop worrying about what happened (can't do anything about it now!) and focus and how to deal with it in the best way possible for us all. Resilience!

I’m so glad to hear you speak positively about your teenage daughters. I feel the same way! My husband is the eternal pessimist too. We do balance each other out nicely though. When he gets too serious I lighten his spirit by telling him that “Captain Grumpy Pants needs to go do his song and dance elsewhere today.” It makes him laugh and he lightens up a little.

Funny timing. I had someone ask me the same thing yesterday and I responded with a lot of the same points you mentioned! I’ve been through some shit and it really does make you super grateful for the calm and beautiful life you build yourself after the fact. Getting there is not fun, but it sure as hell builds resilience and makes the peace on the other side so much sweeter. It’s so nice to live in the calm and now 😊

This was a particularly GREAT video Mia . You deliver your videos with such confidence, that alone is encouraging. From a generally very Happy Person, despite the negative stuff that comes my way from time to time - in other words LIFE.. From Paris, France.

One of my favorite videos you’ve made so far ❤ thinking about it, I’d definitely say resilience and gratefulness are my saving grace when I’m feeling defeated as well.

Absolutely complete and crystal clear, this talk is great, thanks for sharing your life and feelings. Advice is so true.

My perspective is that we all start with a full fuel tank of happy, but with a life of increased damage or deficits this can be eroded early. Sad to say this often can't be influenced or controlled, especially when inflicted in childhood.

And we can make it worse unintentionally with apparently trivial but toxic life choices.

The habits of well-being are crucial. But depressed folks struggle to perform their normal routine, it's a vicious spiral.

So therapy is a lifeline, if someone feels various levels of unhappy over an extended period, talking to someone early is a great idea. Might save a lot of misery later that takes a lot more effort to fix...

The Gaia theory doesn’t sound ridiculous.

You don’t look old enough to have a daughter that age. Thanks for sharing with us 👍

I wonder if it’s a man thing because my husband also loves to say, I’m skeptical lol.
