This is a nice test. However, you would also need to test both laptops in the same condition (i.e. same browser) in order to show that there is little to no variance between the underlying hardware. Without that, we cannot make any conclusive conclusions.

The edge that was shown by microsoft was the old Edge browser, the new Edge browser is powered by Chromium (open source chrome)

Unless those laptops' batteries have the exact same usage, I don't know how you fairly make this comparison. If one battery is more worn than the other then it's not a valid comparison.

also, chrome is full of security options that protect chrome more than others. Therefore 86% is suitable for protection.

Problem with this test is that batteries don't always charge to "100" when it is at "100" usually there is a discrepancy.

So, Chrome using RAM because it uses battery more effectively while doing its tracking in background for its google ads senses interest. I wonder what makes Edges hotter and draining more. It does not do that tracking, it does not uses more RAM; but does it mean, it shift its consumption towards CPU, which drains more battery?

Edge sucks in every way after the chromium update google chrome is the most stable browser on the web

there is problem with your laptop, that's why you see the one with Microsoft edge battery power finish faster than the one with chrome, Also the more heat means there is problem with the battery, it is consuming more current so this means there is leakage of power.. so maybe better you can try the same test but reversing the laptops and see the result.
