I really love this doctor. I think he is the best of all I've listened to. He is more right from all my research and personal experience. Keto has really helped me with intermittent fasting. I have adrenal insufficiency, so no longer than 16 to 18 hour fast from what he suggests. Also, I was over exercising. Slowed it down as he suggests. Really helped. He has the very best advice.

Very knowledgeable guy! His explanations are thorough!! My wife and I have lost quite a bit of weight in a short amount of time on the Ketogenic diet. I have lost 31 lbs (starting weight 201 lbs) and my wife has lost 23.2 lbs ( starting weight 167.9 lbs) since beginning 7/2017. We are both in our 50’s. We start each day with a simple 8 -16 oz Kale shake (kale, orange stevia, lemon, a small amount of apple cider vinegar, 2 tbs non fortified nutritional yeast, pinch of Himalayan salt, 6-8 drops plant based trace minerals, ice, and water) We eat 2 meals a day (breakfast and lunch) last meal 12:30pm.
During the week breakfast generally consists of an egg bake filled with an assortment of vegetables and coffee with MCT oil and Teacrine. Lunch - large Salad with assortment of vegetables, chicken/lamb or beef, a handful of unsalted pumpkin seeds, and blue cheese dressing. Our weekends are for the most part are pretty relaxed and non-stringent to the diet while not going overboard on carbs. Our exercise routine consists of 3 days a week of 1 mile a day of jogging/running, 2 - 3 days walking a mile, and 1 day a week jogging 2-3 miles. Energy levels started shooting way up in month 3.

Your number 1 point was definitely my biggest struggle. I lost 10 pounds within the first 6 or so weeks, 10 pounds I didn't need to lose. I finally got over the fat phobia and started maintaining weight and feeling better.

great explanations, thanks for the info! Bowel motility =lots of awesome leafy greens, hydration, and going easy on the cheezy... Get your fats through olive oil, coconut oil, fatty fish and grass fed animal products. :D

Just found your video and site, great information and you are very thorough! I did lowcarb a long time ago with success. Now I want to do a keto lifestyle to try to get control of the symptoms I have associated with chronic Lymes disease (including some severe depression and anxiety). Do you think it will help? I also need to lose weight and get my hormones back to normal, I'm sure they are just out of whack due to some symptoms I have. I've read that keto is quite good for that, and for inflammation so I thought it might be the trick for the Lymes. Happy New Year~

The single biggest mistake I made when doing a keto diet was incorporating too much protein and I lift weights...I did better eating less protein but much higher quality protein with good fats in the form of eggs and Salmon instead of nuts, even the nuts with lower carbs. Just my 2 cents.

So with a lot of stress, you should not do a keto diet? Is this also true for people who have (a form of) anxiety for example? Are there alternatives?

To explain, I have a mild form of anxiety and have started keto a little while back, I noticed a change in my breathing pattern and I'm trying to figure out if the diet has anything to do with it, or if I am doing something wrong. Based on your advice for example I should consume less protein and more electrolytes, could this be factors or should I consider stopping altogether?

Sorry for all the questions, but I hope you can take the time to answer (some of) them! I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one!

This was very helpful. My biggest obstacle now is that I have a huge amount of chicken in the freezer and some whey to use. My husband doesn't understand the reason for such changes. So I will have to use that up first. :(
