WHAT YOU SHOULD NEVER SAY OR DO TO SOMEONE WITH EPILEPSY
DISCLAIMER: I am no medical doctor, if you see any of the warning signs/symptoms, seek professional help and/or advice for yourself or your loved one.
As we know that it's hard to say what we want to say or how we want to say it or even act towards the person after hearing someone that you care about has a life threatening medical condition. There's no cure, quick fix or manual handbook for this condition and any other medical situation for that matter.
I gave you all 11 things not what to say or do along with a bit of a heads up and they are as follows:
1. Don't forever raise an eyebrow and ask them, "Is it contagious?
2. Don't forever all of a sudden stop answering calls or texts.
3. Don't start whispering/lowering your voice to ask any questions you may have about Epilepsy.
4. Don't say "That's sad. and that's it. It doesn't help.
5. Don't dismiss the person off as "It's no big deal."
6. Don't ask the person if their condition came from something that they did.
7. Don't say to them, "I know how you feel." Unless you've been treated the same type of condition and have undergone same treatment.
8. Don't say, "Just be grateful you don't have (insert another medical condition).
9. Don't say nothing.
10. Don't treat them any differently.
11. Don't do more for the person than they're comfortable for others that does it.
Thanks for watching and your support.
