6 Things You Should Never Say in a First Time Conversation

What are the worst things you’ve ever said in a first-time conversation?

From the wrong way to compliment someone to asking people about their salaries, how much they pay for their homes, and talking about your company and colleagues, we all say things that may be inappropriate in a first-time conversation.

In some situations, there is a more tactful way to say something - and this video presents your alternatives. In other situations, it’s best not to say anything at all - and I’ll tell you just when to let it go. I’ll teach you how to say things better, so that you don’t hurt anyone’s feelings.

With this video, my aim is to help you realize the worst things to say so that when you ARE talking to someone for the first time, you know exactly how to approach the conversation. This makes you feel confident and relaxed. And that’s what we’re all about - Confident Conversations.

Enjoy the video!

These conversation skills are relevant in English-speaking countries, but in many other places around the world too! Do these same tips apply in your culture too?

Emma, we are learning not only English from you, we learn humanity from you, we learn compassion from you, we learn empathy from you, we learn morality from you, we learn humility from you, we learn discipline from you, we learn virtues and great qualities from you, we learn etiquettes from you, we learn simply everything from you everything that we supposed to be learning as good human beings. We are so grateful to you Emma for your knowledge and kindness. Person like you is so rare and rarer than diamond. I wish the world was gifted with more people like you

How funny you are when you ask "how much money do you make?". Here in France we totally avoid asking this question. Nobody talks about how much money he earns! Thank you for this lesson.

This is not only about English people, but how we should be polite everywhere in any first conversation. Thank you Emma for educating people: it's so necessary nowadays!

Emma, I live in a non english speaking country and most of the mistakes you said are common here. Even I have heard that people often ask these infront of others. But learning this lesson I learnt that they are not the ones who should change😀, but we are❤... And BTW I really love😍 your videos and the modivation ❤ you give everyone to learn english in a fun & advanced way!!!😊
