We mixed up the list, and put quite an array of deli's on the list ! Did Katz's Deli win... First time I went to Katz's we all literally laughed at the piles of meat with the bread slices teetering on top and we joked about how we should have shared. Ten minutes later it was all gone.

$25 for a sandwich? That better be a damn good tasting sandwich! 💯

I understand the magic of tradition and that paying extra can sometimes help one encapsulate that magic. But my god.

NY prices are out of control. Way to expensive.

As a native New Yorker, come on guys. This comparison is all over the place and inconsistent. A pastrami and corned beef sandwich at one place, just Pastrami at another and a Ruben at a third place. Rye bread, French banquet, vegetables, mustard, Russian dressing and sauerkraut. Russian dressing and sauerkraut is a Ruben which is a different sandwich style that will always be less dry. If you’re going to do a comparison of NYC best pastrami and/or corned beef sandwiches keep it consistent. Have a pastrami or a corned beef sandwich on Rye with mustard (the standard) at each deli. Also no offense to the guy from California that doesn’t like mustard but the pastrami sandwiches in Cali are as good as world famous Katz’s Deli (the oldest deli in the US)? You’re crazy. Ive spent a significant amount of time in Central and Southern California, the sandwiches don’t even come close. They are diner quality at best.

Thanks for covering Katz! I went there on a whim with my chinese friend earlier this year. Never been to new york before but went to Katz 3 or 4 times during 1 week. Amazing pastrami sandwich lol

Sarge seems like the sandwich fell apart too much. If I pay $23 that sandwich better stay together.

I just discovered your channel with my son and we both love watching your reviews. We watch them for hours when he was home sick recently and now we are big fans.

Im from Boston and had most of them. 2nd Ave deli should make the list but a local New Yorker introduced me to Pastrami Queen which beats both Katz and 2nd ave deli. Shout out to Sarges as well.

If you want a real kosher deli sandwhich, the real deal, go to Essen Deli on Coney Island Ave Brooklyn NY. Ask for the Romanian pastrami.

I live in NYC, so I’m used to the high prices but to pay even $19 for just one sandwich is crazy to me.

Used to love Carnegie for pastrami. Took your advice and went to Sarge’s. Good advice. Much better than the stretchy meat at Katz. Thanks.

That guy behind them at 7:41 lol. My god, it's as if he's trying to stare a hole through them. He doesn't even blink.

Thanks for the recommendation. I ate at Sarge's for dinner when I visited NYC for the first time and was not disappointed. The Pastrami and Corned Beef Sandwich was delectable. My only issue was that the bread sliced could have been thicker so it wouldn't fall apart as you eat. But other than that it was terrific.

I can get a Pastrami Reuben for about $6-8 on Long Island at pretty much every deli.

Edit* Thanks to inflation my local deli is charging $10 for a pastrami and melted Swiss on rye.
