Which deli do you feel deserves to be #1?

I've only eaten in two of these: Katz's and Manny's. Grew up in Brooklyn and loved going the Katz. Amazing food. Had business at University of Illinois Chicgo and Manny's was recommended. WOW!! Food was excellent and the banter of the men behind the counter was hilarious, just like the NY delis. Whether with customers or among themselves their chatter added so much to the ambiance.

My Cardiologist called and yelled at me for watching this video. I think I will go to Slyman's for lunch today.

Glad Slymans is getting the love for my city. When I got back from deployment first spot I went to was Slymans.

When I was a kid - before all the chains - I would either go to an independent sub shop or the Jewish Deli. Two blocks distance. Absolute heaven. Thanks.

When my buddy and I would go to Colts games in Indianapolis...Shapiro's Deli was a real treat before the game! The food and old school atmosphere are top-notch!

I’m so lucky that I live close to Harold’s in Edison. I go there a few times a month and it’s always worth it.

In the category of great delis that are gone: Belden Deli in Chicago was my favorite. It closed about 20 years ago and I still miss it.
Good thing we still have Manny's,
Best corned beef in the world.

Two great New York Delis that made great deli. Carnegie and Second Avenue, both no longer exist. But I used to go both of them. And I plan to finally try Sarges.

You missed Zingerman's in Michigan, awesome place. Manny's is a great choice, but there are so many good delis in the Chicago area, they could be a list of their own.

I've lived in the greater StL area for many years, and hadn't heard of Gioia's before this video. It's now 2 hours later, and I'm STILL saying DAMN, that was a good sandwich.

Shapiro's. It's the rye bread they use. Fragrant, soft, crusty. It just elevates the pastrami, corn beef or smoked tongue to the next level.

Star Deli in Southfield, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) is a great deli with delicious corned beef sandwiches, etc.
