Today we’re going to talk about the benefits of getting a nap. As we get older, many of us lose our ability to sleep. On average, a person sleeps 2 hours less when they’re older versus when they’re younger. Ideally, a person should get about 7.5-8 hours of sleep. Can you make your sleep up with naps? Yes.

Many additional things can affect a person’s quality of sleep besides age, such as stress and EMFs. Computers or even things like power cables and wifi have high levels of both electric field type energy and electromagnetic energy. EMFs could make you very tired, and they could even affect the heart and brain.

11 potential benefits of getting a nap:

1. You could have more energy
2. You could be more alert
3. You could have more focus
4. You could be able to learn better
5. Your mood could be better
6. Your memory could be better
7. You could have more creativity
8. You could have less of an appetite
9. You could have much better exercise performance and endurance
10. You could have fewer accidents
11. You could be more productive

To my employer regarding working from home: My doctor ( Dr. Berg) said I need to take a nap. I’m not avoiding work, I’m just doing as he prescribed.

My granddaddy always took an afternoon nap and lived 'til he was 92. At 74, I am getting over my "guilt" about taking naps or sleeping too much and now let my body tell me what it needs. Meditation is a wonderful de-stressor, too.🕊

I am 62 and generally get 9 hours of sleep or more! A solid 7-8 at night and a 1-2 hour siesta in the afternoon. Always feel great!

Dr Berg, it’s not the tapping of the marker that makes me take a nap, it’s your voice! It’s so soothing. Keep up the great work! Virtuel hugs from Montreal 😊😉🥰

Thank you Dr Berg. I get interrupted sleep over 8 hours. I feel guilty if trying to nap because it seems like like time needs to be used to get things done. When I have tried to nap, I tend to want to listen to audio on the I-pad. I am a senior. Thanks so much for your videos.

I sleep 4 to 6 hours a day. This has been normal for me for almost 50 years. If I do sleep close to 7 hours I feel horrible, washed out, and drained. If I feel a bit tired a 10 to 15 minute power nap or meditation period recharges me for hours.

Also, @Dr. Berg you're voice is relaxing enough to produce meditation &/or relaxation CDs, digitally, etc....
I miss my relaxation cassettes I used to listen to in HS to help me fall asleep & usually stay asleep. Thank you for this video!

When I get a place of my own, I'm gonna have my desktop in a special shed, which will be my online working place. Comfy and more like a tiny house, but there I'll put my PC and most electronics. That way my 'house' is as free as possible from Wifi and such, especially bedrooms!

This idea came to mind as I watched this, thanks Dr!

As a species we’ve devolved into techno slobs. All of us should step away from our phones, tablets, tv’s and spend more time outdoors.

Great vid as usual, doc 👍
