You’re right. To me it goes without saying that when you have a smaller time window, it’s very difficult to “overeat”. There’s only so much food your belly can accommodate at any one time. Also, people are often looking for that one magic drug or method to cure them. Intermittent fasting should go hand in hand with healthy eating…eliminating or reducing sugar, processed/packaged foods, artificial sweeteners, and harmful cooking oils (vegetable oil, etc). In fact, if you’re purpose is not the path toward autophagy you don’t have to fast. You can still lose weight just by eliminating those foods (and not snacking). It’ll just take longer to see the weight loss.

Perhaps, people are just being careful not to recommend any one strategy because of the atypical or outlier individuals. For those individuals, seeking the care of doctors specializing in functional medicine is critical.

Please, do this for yourselves : fill a litre bottle to the top with water, cap it tightly, and weigh it. Then freeze it solid. Then weigh it again. How much mass did the water lose in the process? You will find that zero mass was lost. Please stop it with kcals. They are not applicable to the human body. Fat mass loss is a simple balance equation. QED.
