Hydrangeas are one of the most popular, beautiful, summer-blooming, ornamental trees! There are also a lot of questions surrounding how to properly prune them. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about how to prune Panicle Hydrangea trees and why it’s best to prune them in early spring. Remember, as with any pruning job, we recommend using clean pruners and cutting at a 45º angle just above a node. This will prompt stronger branching for the plant and help maintain its overall health!

If i prune my tree down so small year after year how will it ever grow to a full tree? I have mine near my driveway amd want to let it grow as large as possible. Its a quick fire and i wqs told it would grow to about 7 feet tall and approximately 8 feet wide. If i keep cutting it so small each year im not sure how that could ever happen?
