Theres probably a lot of you in the same boat as I, you like to sleep in your rig when you're going out to different campsites. Biggest problem is that the rear hatch area, when the seats are folded down, is extremely unloved. Here is a simple How To on how to fix that.

RSG LINK:

"Our parodies are for fun, our adventures are our life and this is our lifestyle! Sit back, grab a vodka on the rocks, some tea in a mug, a monster in a can, some tacos! and enjoy at your own risk!" - FC OutThis video is about Untitled Project

Shoutout to anyone who has ever slept on that ridge and survived to tell the tale.
Thanks for sharing . Definitely doing this. I've seen some other set ups, but this is the cheapest and gives up the least height in the cargo area. I'll be removing my seats on the back, as well. It gives about 3 inches extra headroom (or more if you push the front seats all the way up).

Just wanted to say thanks man. I built this this week to camp this weekend. Super easy and fits PERFECTLY with your measurements. The only thing I added after the fleece was a cabinet handle underneath to make it easier to handle and always know which side went against the hatch. BTW home depot will cut the wood sheet for free! I couldn't be happier, this set up is excellent and sooo easy to make! I also ordered a 6" trifold full size memory foam mattress to throw on top for added comfort . It folds up for transport and storage and lays great in our rig.

I will be making one of these soon myself and have watched the other video you referenced a few weeks back. This past weekend I actually cut individual pieces of cardboard to size stacked them up and it worked amazingly well, but this was already on my agenda. Thanks for the video!

Thanks dude, went to Home Depot and bought a half sheet of plywood, had them cut it to you dimensions, screwed a few pieces of 2x4 underneath, as you did and done in a half hour

Thanks for the dimensions. That offset in the back looks like it's easy to remove for cleaning or whatever also.

Just the video I was looking for, thanks !
Question - Would you know if this would work in a 4th gen?

Ive seen some fancy bed platforms but love the simplicity of this. Is there a way to fasten it to the vehicle for safety?

You mentioned two different numbers of measurements from the starting point the back of the vehicle for the 2x4. Is it 3” or 3 1/2”?

Hi David, quick question. Will the back seats fold up with your tray installed?

Quick question, did you not secure it to the two tie-down points closest to the cargo door? Only to the back two?

Thanks David. Last one, where can I find the dimensions? I’m couldn’t find them on the RSG link.

U from Utah area ? Based on your slight Utah accent. Cool build bruh

Can't you use a 4 inch memory foam mattress and throw on top of that hump ? I would imagine 4 inches should minimize the uncomfortability of it. Right ???

What's the total length of space that this provides? I watched a video on a new Lexus GX and there wasn't enough length to sleep.
