Is Bread Bad For You | The Real Truth is a video that describes what you really need to know about eating bread.

Is eating bread bad for you is a common question that we receive over here at the headquarters. The truth is that it depends. I know, it has to be complicated, but what isn't. There is bread that is healthy and of course bread that is very unhealthy. Unfortunately many people eat bread that is absolutely terrible for them and it is destroying their health. Many people also are eating too much of the wrong kind of bread and that is not healthy either.

Is wheat bread bad for you is another common question. Wheat bread is not much better than the white bread. It actually has very little nutritional quality and is not much better than white bread. It scores higher in fiber and a few other places in the vitamin category, but overall it isn't great.

The healthiest bread in the world really comes down to better choices. Sure we can eat bread but we just want to get the right stuff. The healthiest bread in the world are breads like cloud bread, ezekial bread, sourdough bread, and almond flour and coconut flour breads. These breads are all more nutrient dense and contain little to no gluten in them.

Is whole wheat bread healthy, not really. It contains an anti-nutrient known as phytic acid. This anti-nutrient binds up minerals and stops them from being absorbed into our system which can lead to nutrient deficiencies. So though we may think that brown bread is the healthier option it in fact is not much more nutrient dense than white bread and also higher in calories.

Is white bread bad for you to eat on a daily basis. Most certainly. It has nothing to offer in the way of nutrients and it is high glycemic. Eating lots of bread is linked to insulin resistance and many health conditions as it raises your blood sugar to unhealthy levels.

Once you get used to it, sourdough is very easy to prepare. I make a loaf a week for myself. Some sourdough recipes ask for added sugar, which destroys the whole concept. The yeast ferments the simple starches that become sugar too easily in the stomach. Not only that, I save money.

I remember having a neighbor who came from Europe back in the seventies. She would bring home a suitcase of flours, dried meats and cheeses whenever she went back there to visit because she said that the food here was different. Her bread was always heavy in texture and very tasty. My family didn't like it because it wasn't light like Wonder Bread....but I loved it. It really tasted different from even homemade bread here in the states.

I love, love, love, bread but since starting my weight loss journey (not keto) 12 1/2 weeks ago and 31 pounds less I haven't had any bread. Thank you for this video for it was eye opening and I'll continue doing what I'm doing. (Going out to a restaurant next weekend with family and your video will help me not eat any bread that's served. Thank you)

*_When I first came to America I was really surprised that the bread stayed soft for so long after we buy it. Also, it was sort of fluffy. Our routine in Ireland is to go to the store early each morning to get the 'Smokin Fresh", still warm bread of your choice. This will be on the table for the family when they wake. Yesterday's bread may be used to dunk in soup or feed the birds, whatever. It's also much softer while remaining solid, compared to bread I bought in America which was still soft 1 week later, really it was. What is done differently to bring about such a huge difference? Thank you_*

I bought a bag of English muffins from store. Left it on the top of fridge and forgot about it. 2 months later my brother came visit and found the English muffin. The muffin still has the same texture as it was fresh, no mold no wired smell.

This was eye-opening. Didn't know that bread contains phytic acid which blocks mineral absorption. Gluten is also a lectin which is bad for gut health. Apart from eating healthy with meats and organ meats etc, low carb and as clean as we can, doing intermittent fasting, having ACV, what more can those who have Celiac's do to improve or reverse the malabsorption issues of our gut? Can it be fully reversed?

Thanks a lot doctor, this video is life saving! We quit taking bread for a long time because of wheat content but now the alternatives are clearly listed.

No matter how strict I try keto, I just have to eat bread. I grind my own 2 cups wheat berries, make the dough, then let it sit in the fridge for up to 2 weeks while using a little every so often within those 2 weeks. I have soaked, sprouted and dry wheat berries if I am going to eat the dough right away. I believe to soak the wheat either before grinding or let it soak, in the fridge, after making the dough before cooking and eating. I don't eat it every day and I don't eat it alone; when I do eat it it's a small amount with other foods and only once that day...usually Friday with my tunafish sandwich.

I eat homemade bread every day and in my country, they love bread. Westerners don't eat with bread, but I do. The best food there is.

Very good. In general, Bread is BAD. but for someone who is not Carbohydrate intolerant, OK in moderation. Also, keep in mind there are NO essential carbohydrates. Nutrient-dense carbs are much better for you, but not completely necessary.
