How to Test Yourself for Golfer’s Elbow

Here are three tests that can be done to determine if you actually have golfer’s elbow. If you have pain on the inside of your elbow and suspect golfers elbow, give these tests a try. If a test reproduces your familiar symptoms, then it is considered positive.

1. Tendon Palpation
2. Tendon Stretch Test
3. Tendon Load Test

The third test caused a burning pain in that area for me, and a lot of tennis elbow tests also cause the same type of pain in that area for me. However, the first two tests didn't cause pain in the elbow but they caused pain in the wrist. That area and the rest of my arm has been feeling extremely sore with aching and burning sensations. I also had this same issue about 2 months ago but it went away for around a month and the pain just resurfaced. Could this still be golfer's/tennis elbow or is it more likely something else?

my pain is further down the forearm flexor, closer to the wrist. What would that be?

I feel pain on the second test, but it’s a sharp pain in the back of my elbow and only occurs in the motion of extending it and not when holding it. Any idea of what this could be

I have permanent hot pain on touching the bone, right and left arm but when I do these tests I don’t have any increased painful sensations but my hand and all fingers become very numb and tingly. By the way I absolutely love your content and channel I honestly think this is the best series I’ve come across 🎉 grateful viewer in the UK

Would you recommend doing these tests wrapped, or unwrapped? I had my elbow wrapped up while doing these tests and didn't feel much of a result. Experiencing sharp pain on the muscle right above the medial epicondyle

the pain was only on fist test other remaining test i didn't felt any pain so is that just cause i overuse my elbow too much?
i do sport calishthenics so is that normal?

I have an internal scar tissue injury in my wrists, forearms, elbows, and shoulders from repetitive injury and overuse and lifting heavy and playing very athletic sports like football. The pain started in my wrist in about mid way through April and has gotten worse slowly it is now in all the spots I listed and now it is almost October. The osteopath I’m going to is saying they have to break it all up been there 3 times see no difference the pain is not bad for a week then gets super bad for 3 days then when I wake up it feels good again it’s so weird, I get lots of pain in my tricep area and the tendons that connect to my elbow and in the spot you get tennis elbow and golfers elbow I am 15 and don’t know what to do I had to stop working and it is even hard to go to school have any tips or anything I just want anything advice. It’s in both Arms

I have some with the 2nd test but none with the 1st. The motion of holding my hand flat and push down on the finger tips causes pain but it's an ich or two towards the wrist and not right at the elbow. Muscle tear?

Excuse me pls help me im nervous i have been using my fixed gear bike and i have practicing skids and part of the process is leaning in your body and putting you pelvis in the stem of the handle bar and its been giving my inner elbow some pain, but when i stop doing activities it becomes pretty normal but when i return to biking the pain is sometimes unbearable and its so sharp and its not just my elbow feeling pain my whole fore arm and my pain is not in the inside of the elbow its in. The outer pls help

Hello there. First, I wan to say thank you for your hard work. I recently purchased your new book and I love it! It has been such an aid in my work.
Second, I'm wondering if you might be able to give advice on a client? They have RA and have had their left elbow frozen in a partial flexed and extended potion for many years now. Client can mostly flex their elbow, but cannot fully extend it. How can I rehab the full ROM and strength/functionality? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Blessings.

Hey, 3rd test seems to be reversed Cozen's test, does the 2nd also has its specific name or is it your invention? :)

Hey man I have no pain with these tests and minimal pain throughout the day but i feel a sharp elbow pain when bench pressing or doing triceps pushdowns

When I raise my arms in front and behind, the sound of the bones comes out it’s like “TAG TAG” sound. BTW I am going to gym.

What if I literally can’t straitened my arm when doing the first test, I’m doing the stretch how you said but I feel a sharp pain when 3/4 of the way to strait and I can’t go passed there. It hurts in the same place you labeled, but I am wanting to know what to do and if you know what it is that is wrong with me.

When I do the resistance with a open palm it hurts like crazy but closed fist nothing.

Thanks for the video! I am having intermittent pain on the inside of my elbow, but none of these tests cause pain. Is there anything else that might come to mind? Also, is it OK to continue doing exercises like controlled pull-ups if I don't feel pain while doing them (assuming my pain is tendon-related)?

so iam having this problem for quite some time, whenever i try to straighten my arm after doing any work that is elbow related my elbow starts to crack, and iam also feeling mild pain in the same areas as you explained. so pls can you help me and tell why is it that i have a elbow cracking symptom, do i have some other problen too??
