I discovered expat life years ago while in the military. We called the US, 'the world.' I had the fortune on being based on 4 continents. The experience of living off base and in the local communities changed my perspective about America. When I returned to the US, I couldn't limit myself any longer. With the establishment of the global economy, I left the US. After acquiring a couple of residences and having other options, life is good. I also tell everyone to stop allowing self limiting mindsets to hold them back. There's another world out here.

Glad you have taken this opportunity, and yes, I agree with you, many Americans, should take a chance and just come to Asia. South America will just drive you more insane. Asia is where it is, but you must prepare, Thailand, Vietnam, these are good places to start and establish a base. Be careful of places like Cambodia, Malaysia and even Singapore might not be for everyone. Those places will need you to have more experience and patience. But from experience, Thailand is good, Vietnam is definitely up and coming. Good Luck to everyone on their journey! 🙂
