👋🏻 Hey guys! In this video I show you why the iPad Pro + iPadOS is PERFECT for students. The iPad Pro is simply the best investment I've ever made as it is perfect for taking notes in college.
iPad Pro note taking is simply the best way to learn your material and get things done! iPad OS / iPad OS13 brings many new features to the iPad Pro 2018 / iPad Pro 2019 / iPad 12.9 / iPad Air which are incredibly useful for college students especially with notability or goodnotes 5. I love it, it's amazing, and I hope you do too. Enjoy!

here are my tips for those who want these benefits but cant afford an ipad:
- take a picture of your handwritten notes and upload them to your computer/laptop. also use a backup app like he's doing. then you can access them anywhere, never lose them, and (im guessing) still use the ctrl + F feature to search for any keyword. this also rids the problem of having to carry around binders. it might be a hassle to some to upload all the notes but if you cant afford an ipad (like me hehe) its a great idea. i dont find it to be too much of a hassle tho. there are many different methods of organization tho, so look at all them and find whichever one is best for you.
- for organization, you would have to use the old way of using dividers or sticky notes that stick out the side of your notebook with a title to divide everything into folders and such. which i personally dont see as that much of a problem.
- for editing handwritten notes, first of all you can edit them if you upload them to your computer, and secondly, you can use sticky notes and/or white out to replace or add information. not as convenient, but still works. also, you would understand the content much more if you actually draw the diagram by hand that the teacher has on their powerpoint or wherever, instead of copying and pasting it on to your notes.
- this is probably personal preference, but i love buying individual pens and highlighters in different colors to use for notes, theyre more satisfying, and much cheaper than a $100 apple pencil (tho the pencil is still helpful!) even with the apple pencil on digital notetaking, depending on the app you use, you'd probably have to buy some different colors and textures and such.
- since most people buy laptops specifically for college, i really recommend buying a 2-in-1 laptop (that means touchscreen and able to flip over and act exactly like a tablet, but just with your computer. plus you could buy a much cheaper stylus for this and still have it work) or a detachable laptop (the screen comes off and basically becomes a tablet, you can move your keyboard out of the way, take notes just like on an ipad if you want, etc. look into microsoft surface for a good detachable laptop) this is just one device where you have everything as compared to laptop/monitor and an entire ipad for notes/apps. not to mention buying accessories like the stylus and keyboard.
- for the two screen thing, i just use split screen. for pc, right click on your task bar and click show windows side by side. for me, my computer doesnt show them side by side perfectly, so i adjust the windows myself until theyre both the same size. then i can write my notes and research at the same time, view powerpoint, etc. though with this, for those who prefer a bigger screen and smaller screen (i personally dont) you would have to compromise.
- when youre attending a lecture and the teacher is talking pretty fast, (for me way too fast for me to take any handwritten notes), its best to quickly type the important information that they want you to understand, and then when you go home take actual handwritten notes with the important info (or you can use two notebooks, one for taking handwritten notes during the lecture and one for when youre home. this way you can also make your notes pretty at home if you want.) i personally primarily use this method for notetaking anyway. it works really well.
- for the apps, use your phone, or if you want a bigger screen, most of them have versions you can use on your laptop.
- you can upload photos of handouts on to your laptop as well.
i think the best tip is that you can upload photos of your handwritten notes and put them on a digital backup service thing and not have to worry! i really hope this helps!! :))

I was an artist who noticed almost all of my college classmates had an iPad so I decided to invest in one too on the basis that I would use it for note writing and occasional drawing with procreate. ABSOLUTE game changer. I have a main desktop I use for my job (animation isn’t so easy on the iPad) but for general illustration work, I love the iPad. And it also replaced my laptop pretty much. I always have the iPad on the side watching videos or something. As for note taking, I take a lot of notes and have gone paperless! I love it.

Finally there is a review from a student's perspective instead of a video producer's.

I promised myself last year that when I finally get accepted into medical school, I would buy myself an iPad pro - for studying and for drawing. Last Friday, I found out I got accepted!! Time to start saving ❤ (Also I'm totally binge watching all of your videos at the moment)

I bought it in December of 2018. It was definitely not an easy buy for me. I was in between getting a computer or an ipad, and in the end I thought the ipad was more suitable for me. Best decision I ever made. It's basically my binder for highschool and I am super proficient with it.
