Hi Mark, the delete option does work, you need to scribble over the text you want deleted and then at the end of the scribble, keep the pen in contact with the screen. Can delete a letter, word or whole sentence. Actually a really nice feature!

I was so excited for the new features in Notes (colored text, collapsible headers, Math Notes, Smart Script) and in the Calculator app that I installed the Public Beta on my 13 inch M4 iPad Pro. Thus far, I haven’t really had any problems with the Beta and I'm loving the new features.

In fact, I had been planning on upgrading my iPad mini whenever the mini 7 came out but got convinced (possibly by your video) that the 11 inch M4 iPad Pro is basically the iPad mini Pro I've been hoping for a couple of years. Long story short, I decided to keep my 13 inch iPP and replace my mini with an 11 inch M4 iPP. It arrived yesterday; I had no hesitation whatsoever about doing the initial setup for that 11 inch iPP using the Public Beta of iPad OS 18. No problem on this iPad either. Definitely worth considering installing the Public Beta—it really IS that stable.

I have the Pro 11 inch. I’m hoping this update will fix the WOEFUL battery life. I’m know from the Apple support for, is that there are many, many of us who have to recharge two or more times a day just doing basic stuff.

The beta releases this year were extremely stable even going back to the developer beta 1.

Wow. You're brave. I've heard of some bugs. Yeah, I totally get that. I've completely forgotten what iOS 18 brings but tbh most of it wasn't groundbreaking. Icons, Control Centre, the cool Scribble thing, and Apple Intelligence.

Apple intelligence apparently won’t be coming iOS iPadOS in the EU & UK this year. It’s to do with the new EU rules imposed on Apple and Apple playing hardball with EU rulemakers

Like your thoughts about iOS 18 and that you love this 11 iPad so much (I have also got it), but I regret having purchased it because it doesn’t change what I do with an iPad at all. Don‘t need the OLED display, and that it’s a bit faster, … For me it‘s a waste of money, I‘m not happy with this purchase and: I still use my iPad Pro 11-3rd Gen.

Also, the clue to the reason for the months long gap between WWDC and the release of the OS is the ‘D’ for Developer. App developers get their first view of the new OS at WWDC and they then get Beta releases on which they can write, develop and test their new apps. This takes time. Simple really.

The way you arranged your icons on your iPad reminds me of how I would have it on my MacBook Pro when I use to use it. Like that hidden bar, etc. But I use the Lifesum widget, Clock, Maps, Movies, Music, etc. I wanted to say, my iPad Pro 6th Gen, I have paper like. But I’m still using my BodyGuardz screen protector because of blue light whatever. But is Journal on iOS 18?I want to be able to use it on my iPad.
