People like to hate on the iPad saying that iPadOS is too restrictive, especially when it comes to corporate-level apps. I want to show off just how wrong people are!

Unfortunately the iPad version of Microsoft's Office apps are extremely limited and cut down, with most functions and tools not available. it is largely useless on iPad. Anyone who actually uses Word properly knows that, for basic documents, just use Apple's Pages or Google's Docs. For advanced users Word is the only choice and the functions that are needed to use it are completely absent on mobile devices. Even the online, Teams or 365 versions are cut down - you need the full windows desktop version for all the functions

The same applies to Excel and Powerpoint.

🐬I just started using an iPad Pro M2 12.9 with Magic Keyboard while traveling for my corporate job. So far really liking the capabilities of MS 365 on the Pro. I also like to leave my office and take meetings from the couch or backyard. Your tutorials are very helpful. Thanks,

One thing not mentionned is the lack of macro support on ipad. So if you use macros to automate some tasks, forget the ipad. There has never been VBA/Macro support and since this is something people ask for over 5 years, one may think there will never be macro support on ipad.
Furthermore, there are small features that may be missing on iPad. Like in powerpoint, if you want to fill a shape with something like a picture, stripes or a pattern, you can't. The option is not there! And Keynote doesn't have these features too.

You can use O365 apps on Ipad OS but honestly, I could not adjust to the limitations compared to the desktop version (non-IpadOS version). As a scholar, that types a lot of research papers with APA style format, reviewing user comments (shareable document with feedback from other users), and constant revisions to papers, the IPAD OS version is not for me. I sold my ipad pro and magic keyboard and primarily use Microsoft Word on my Macbook. Hopefully one day the iPad OS version of Word will catch up to the desktop version.

It sucks that office on ipad doesn't even do pivot and stuff. Pivot is not even power user function either.

Are you kidding me? You have to pay to use on IPad Pro 12.9 and does almost 30% what office can do on Mac! Microsoft is intentionally cutting office on ipad.

Hi, you convinced me to buy this one and not another computes. I have a Dell now, 17´´ very heavy "artifact". I am seeking to buy a smaller computer to use office and you showed me that it is completely possible to use the iPad with keyboard as a computer. Thank you very much. You help me a lot!!

It has amazing potential. But there are bugs and annoyances. I’ve had some big problems that’s made me go back to the computer to get things done the way I need done.

The only main problem is the amount of annoying bugs. It’s really frustrating.

I use it on my cellular iPad all of the time and rely on it.

As long as I have good signal it works great. Once my service gets weaker I start to run into a lot of issues.

It allows you to work offline but sometimes will block you out unless you log in —- but you are offline.

Sometimes it will hang trying to download changes on a 1 page word document.

AirPrint also prints what’s backed up to the cloud and not what’s visually on your screen. Sometimes I would make changes and it would still print without changes

This was a great review. And thank you for using chapters in the video. They really help navigating the sections.

If I can't use the simple excel pivot table on ipad pro, having the ipad to replace a laptop is not an option for me

I prefer downloading & installing MS Office onto my computer & laptop. I would want to be able to do this when my iPad arrives. Thus, I'd like to see the process of downloading & installing it for Apple.

This was very good. Been using Office in my IpadPro for the past year and a half, and I can pretty much use it well … until you wish to create database analysis, or reports… there I needed to switch back to Imac

I use a lot Office 365 in my iPad Pro 11 on the go. But can’t leave my MacBook Air away, I use a lot of graphics in excell and can’t do it in my iPad. Some times I just start a ppt on the iPad but I got to finish it on the MacBook Air.
I love my iPad, but I can’t adapt my workflow to a 100% iPad solution

One of the best in-depth videos I have seen in the recent times. Kudos. I am your fan now!.. This was very very useful and something I have been looking for. Thanks very much!

🐬Thanks Fernando. I found this while researching whether I can use the new M4 iPad Pro 13" as my new "laptop." I need Microsoft Office for my job, BUT, I am NOT one of those "5%". I had a hard time keeping up with you, but I will learn. Thanks for giving me the confidence to buy. I needed a new laptop AND I had always used smaller iPads for entertainment consumption, but now I'll be able to do both AND have a larger beautiful OLED screen to enjoy videos and movies (especially HDR) on. Thanks again.

I never see any reviews for Microsoft 365, the online version as seen on Safari, used on anything but a Mac. I will tell you, using word online is horrendous on Safari for IPad. The problem isn’t typing, it’s selecting things. Every time I try to select anything on the document I’m typing in, it will select one word (normal) but whenever I try to drag the selection to make it bigger, the virtual keyboard pops up over the document, and sometimes the page itself scrolls and messes things up, sometimes even moving my selected text to a different part of the paragraph! I also feel like the virtual keyboard should be updated with a Ctrl button so I can undo things like this without pulling out my windows laptop!! I’m one of those strange guys who uses Apple phones and tablets, but is used to Windows machines for everything else.

I currently have a surface pro 9 and it sucks. THe problem is the RAM. it simply doesnt matter whether you have 8, 16 or even 32 gb, because if this thing tries to be a computer AND a tablet simultaneously there are WAAAAY too many background processes. And you FEEL that. It literally gets hot when it works. It`s crazy. I think I am going to get a mac book and an ipad pro, because I dont want these sudden shut-downs or freezes of programs anymore. Enough is enough.
