Did you know that 85% of people that suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder also have another diagnosable mental illness, and many have more than one personality disorder?

Today, we will go over the top 10 Borderline Personality Disorder traits that no one wants to discuss.

Make sure to watch until number 1 because it's one of the most significant BPD Traits we've ever seen!

Let's begin by identifying, "What is Borderline Personality Disorder?"

Borderline Personality Disorder commonly referred to as BPD is a mental illness that affects the way a person feels about themselves and others. It consists of long-term patterns of behavior that filter into the person's ability to function in everyday life. Some key features are self-image issues, unstable relationships, and trouble managing emotions and behaviors.

This mental illness is prevalent with more than 3 million sufferers per year that can last for a short time or target the individual their entire life. Family history is a factor as well and can increase the likelihood of the condition developing and progressing.

This condition initially started as a mental illness called "Borderline Psychosis." Research professionals are still attempting to have the "Borderline" word removed as it gives an unclear definition of what this mental illness essentially entails. The focus on this disorder is isolation, fear of real or imagined abandonment, severe mood swings, and stigma.

Not every fact said here is present in a person with BPD .

Saying, "relationships WILL end because ___" "people with bpd can't have long relationships...."

These are harmful stereotypes. Yes, it is a POSSIBILITY, but not definitive statements. Also, these symptoms are oversimplified

People diagnosed with BPD are the ones who actually watch videos about this mental illness. It's difficult to get people to learn about this who don't suffer from it themselves. It is disheartening to have people that say they care not make a effort in learning about it. They prefer to make comparisons based on emotions they've experience as a way to understand it. They make way I am feeling seem less important by doing that.

Have been married for 28 yrs to someone with BPD. I am a behaviorist and it can be hard but understanding a loved one is so important. Be their rock and work together. It takes dedication and work but show up, validate and reduce fear.

And what I am shocked about is when this person said that those with BPD believe they are a victim when they are not in so many words. A lot of people who were sexually and phisically abused, war veterans, and those who have sustained emotional abuse then find themselves with BPD not alone PTSD. They are victims.

These aren’t facts, this is disgusting generalizing misinformation

You cant point out all the negative symptoms of bpd and gloss over the fact the brains of people with bpd and other personality developed differently in childhood, normally as a teenager, because through trauma the brain prioritised other things like protect you from the shit that made you feel so vulnerable, shutting people out, not learning to assimilate with the people around you until its too late.... You gotta be careful how you present this topic and others related to mental health

I find this video very interesting because you do have generalized information on BPD but it is polluted with misinformation and a lot of black and white thinking.
Could see this video being very damaging if the wrong person watches it. Be it someone with borderline personality disorder or someone researching it. They will get misinformation that could be detrimental.

This information is completely misleading . BPD is not toxic like NPD . They sometimes feel themselves guilty unlike NPD . Their negativity is primarily unintentional, though they cause damage to their well wishers . I personally had experience with a BPD and some NPDs. I don't agree at all with this video ..
Mixing fact with fiction in his own way ..
Yes, there r BPDs with NPD or Psychopathic comorbidity, but this video is still wrong on this condition ..

Facts?? Some aren't even closely present in the majority of PwBPD. Like wanting to be the center of the attention?? It's BPD you're supposed to be talking about, not NPD. Also even stating that relationships/friendships don't last long... A 10+ year friendship with an FP isn't long enough? If the other person is willing to understand (and the PwBPD is doing therapy), there could be very few issues, and I do know several cases. Please make sure to double check for stigma when (I suppose) you're trying to fight it.

I don’t like this video as someone with BPD I feel like this video is poor. You are the reason why there is so much stigma.

I feel that some of the points could be true for either a younger person with BPD, someone who don't admit the reality either out of ignorance or stupidity or someone of other types of the BPD; like the narcissist type, compared to mine: Quiet BPD.
I've outsmarted my BPD by gradually cutting the connection I've had with everybody. But I can't play a game, watch a movie or look at YT without seeing couples, cute girls or seductive acts without breaking down because the few times the last 6-7 years (after my divorce) that I've started dating or talking endlessly with, I've gotten the extreme mixed and enormous emotions of idolization, obsessive thinking, jealousy, love and hate. So, I've thanked them for what ever time we shared together and block them so both of us can go on without having to deal with me. Damned if do, damned if I don't. Heard Canada will release a self-checkout treatment next year. might take a trip over there. or look up whats the less traumatic and painful drug and order it myself. =')

i needed to hear this, coming out of a relationship thinking everything was my fault. i think the gas lighting is the worst part of having a loved one with BPD, b/c that shit gets deep in your psych and wrecks your view of the world. i felt the 'no-boundries' thing on a deep level.

There is a fuck ton of incorrect information here, or half correct. Spreading false information hurts everyone.

So far the videos I have seen on this channel do more to perpetuate stigmas, than to actually educate people. Sad.
