Whenever I see a cable machine open when it's time for dumbbell shoulder raises (lateral, bent-over or front), I always grab it.

If you position yourself properly and never let the weights rest on the stack, you can gain more time under tension throughout the entire rep and in some cases even lift more weight.

It not a MAJOR change, but it's the little things that allow us to take the same exercises and improve upon them!

***DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK***... I used to step over the cable and perform the excersize like this too, but one time I pulled too hard on the cable and cut my balls clean off. So now I'm shooting blanks but I do now have massive rear delts. Worth it

Thank you Scott your videos really helped me learn movements for working out when I first started, when I had no idea what I was doing. Glad to see your still doing the same

This is a great idea and especially functional for wrestlers/other combat sports.

Awesome use of the Cable! I've only used dumbbells

I don't have access to cables, but I will use that stance with Db's. Thank you Scott!

Same rear delt Movement in pec dec. But the disadvantage of pec dec and other machines are they had a limited range of motion compaired to this type of exercise. Thats why i like this cable machine. After my 4 sets my rear delt burns!!

My triceps and back are especially weak. Been following your push pull legs programme and I am adding another two weeks into the first month's routine as I feel my deadlift and squat form is still garbage. Afterwards only can I proceed to 5 days split training!! Basics first yay

I'm considering turning my garage into my gym man cave, which right now is a section of my basement. I would rather the basement be the area for my future arcade/pinball collection and tabletop games, while the garage is the gym. I saw a few cable machines I like.

I love this stance, but the cable will keep on tapping "something" in every rep. Dumbbell it is then

Good strategy with the cable between the legs 👀👍☝️🥸

Nice.. I usually just use the reverse pec deck but I often use a cable for standing lateral raises and rotator cuff movements. I think I will try this soon as an alternative to the reverse fly.. thanks for the tip

Great tip Scott. I also do my lateral raises on cable through the legs as well. Helps me keep a better path of the cable and really keep the tension on the side delt. Cheers.
