Hey, fellow farmer here, and if you just want an M4 guys, then follow these steps:
Follow the same steps as Fudd showed you, but instead of rice, use sand, preferably from Iraq as fertilizer. This will make your plant base adjustable- I mean softer and your carbine- I mean tree shorter.
Only add a quarter pound if you want the M4. If you want the M4A1 variant (the full auto version), then add more sand.

Tip that I learned in farming school: You can get a CAR-15 XM177 if you use K-Rations as a fertilizer. Along with the K-Rations you’ll need a Green Beret, preferably one from a SOG member and place it over the seedling.

Remember everyone, if you grow this on sand and add oil instead of rice you get an m4a1 or if you add sour Kraut instead of agent orange you get an hk416 or hk417. Those are some alternate trees.
