Most people do not breathe correctly. When you breathe properly, your diaphragm, stomach and ribcage should expand harmoniously. Every cell in our body requires oxygen to survive. Proper breathing increases stamina, mental clarity, better moods, and helps the body detoxify more efficiently.

Dear Dr. Mandell, I am 27 years old and and I have just found the most useful video of my life. I have been breathing wrong my whole life. As I was not using stomach for breathing, I was feeling excessive pressure on my sinuses and I was having nasal congestion. Also, as I was not using stomach, I was having some issues with bloating and indigestion. People, if you are having trouble with nasal congestion and breathing, definitely try this.

Thank you so much for this video....my friend Jose and me are constantly talking over Xbox 360 live and we talk through our Xbox headset and I constantly here him having trouble breathing. Sometimes it gets out of hand and I ask him to kindly stop breathing forever! He than responds with an even louder type of breathing that cause my ear to bleed. Thank you hope this helps him.

I used to run Cross Country. Gym teacher always said to breathe in through your nose and exhale out your mouth. This is how you avoid cramps in your sides when running long distances. Focus on breathing in through your nose and exhaling slowly out your mouth. IMO I would say that is the most proper/healthiest/beneficial way to breathe

motivationaldoc - I've found this video while on the desk at work. I don't spend extra time to go outside. Just in-house exercises. I did as instructed. I feel comfortable. You are a good instructor. My profession needs a lot of moves, I need healthy bones and lots of oxygen intake. Dr. Mandell, thank you so much.
