We need a review of the canyon pounder!

I've found similar things. Im sticking to the Lift 29.5. I have a 29 1/2 draw, 401 grain arrow, and it's gitting 289 fps at 58.5 draw weight. I love it

coming across a video like this without any prior knowledge of bows or bow hunting really really reminds me of math class; a whole bunch of numbers, and not a damn clue as to what they mean lol

Buying a phase 4. 26.5” draw w a trigger release, probably a bit longer with a thumb release. Looking forward to it.

Well I think at 27 inch draw you might like the extra 17 feet per second on the Phase4 29. I have seen you shoot very accurately with your V3X29 over the past year. Don’t second guess yourself Dan. I am 27 as well no way am I dragging that 33 around in the mountains of Colorado. I am 5’6” tall not sure how tall you are however I am thinking we’re pretty close on height. My Phase4 build date is March 10th just ordered it yesterday. I will have my V3X29 as my back up bow. So nice that the quiver, sight and engage limbs can go back and forth on both bows.

I absolutely love the option sight. I'm shooting it with my mathews safari out past 100 easy. I'd love to shoot with you guys one day. I love shooting. I watch all your content and you have come a long way with your bow setups and arrows.

That canyon pounder works really nice with my revoltx80 310fps with 520gr shafts, and it can reach out more than my old spot hogg by a far poke

29.5 draw length, i liked the 29 better i get more cam engagement on the 29 over the 33. which is counter intuitive but I shot both bows a lot. Just a personal preference like anything in archery. I shot it very well out to 100. I have to do my part a little more then the 33 but I like that

Did you and MFJJ figure out the heavy arrow topic.... another thing about heavy POINTED arrow is a light arrow uses the fletchings for steering wich makes it suseptible to wind where the HEAVY POINTED arrow is more like shooting the point at your taget and the fletchings ONLY creat drag to keep the arrow moving in a linear motion... lets say a 8mph crosswind pushes your LIGHT arrow off your aimpoint 8in... a HEAVY POINTED arrow MAY only move your impact point 2in off of your aimpoint... just my THEROY... I havent tested it yet.... by the way when was your last HUNT that had NO CROSSWIND????

What do you do with all the old sights you test? Do you keep them as backups in case you want to go back, or do you sell them?

This guy should rightfully be considered a great archer whose skill exceeds the average bowhunter. Look at that group shot from 70 yards, and you'll see several gut shots and marginal hits. Meanwhile, YouTubers across the land are all bragging about their 90 yard killshots and 55 yard frontals placed in the boiler. But I want to see the rest of the footage from those guys, where they wound several elk before finally lucking out with a lethal arrow. The moral: don't let your confidence exceed your ability. Be fair to your live targets, and stick with high percentage shots.

Hi Dan I saw in your previous video you got the draw length down to 26.75 on the 33? Just wondering if you could give more info on that? On my v3x 29 I’m a 26.5 mod could go a bit longer but I’m really interested in the 33 inch bow but 27 inch draw is a bit to long for me. Thanks!

Same I shoot a 27" draw. I find the 29 to be better for me

The 29 has a very narrow valley, and you should describe that as a shorter speed bow, with its geometry, it'll jerk forward on you very easily. Even with 85% letoff the valley is worse. Night and day shooting the 33, these bows can hardly be compared. Stability is what reviewers seem to go to first, but its that jumpy feel of the 29 that'll be the biggest difference for most buyers. Maybe do a quick demo if what that actually means by holding the 29 at full draw and sneezing!

Put down your training wheels and shoot a real bow.
