Invisalign REVIEW – What They DON’T Tell You About Straightening Teeth!

Here's my Invisalign review with before and after results. I share the highs and lows of going through the process of teeth straightening and how it wasn't as easy as I thought. While in the end I ultimately was happy with my Invisalign results, it certainly was no picnic as I head sore teeth and headaches for months.

I just finished my Invisaligns about a month ago at age 50! It cost almost $8k CAD, 27 months with an orthodontist, and worth every penny. I actually smile for pictures with my teeth now. My process was mostly painless. At first, I had maybe 3 days of a bit of pain after a new tray till it settled, and attachments on most of my teeth. The over-correction trays were less pleasant. I was “almost” done 3 times, but I had 2 stubborn teeth that wouldn’t move more and we extended it to get those perfect. I finally drew the line and was sick of it so settled for my one incisor not quite perfect but overall everything is much much better than when I started!

Really excellent review. You covered all the downsides. I’m having the same experience minus the headaches. I hardly have the patience to endure my treatment and all the cleaning and so much soft food. I hope I will feel it was worth it in the end. You should be pleased with your results. They look great.

Your before teeth are identical to mine now, crowded bottom focing few front teeth back, crowded top forcing k9 to snag. Im in my first week and the hardest part for me so far is food and snacking!!!! No one warned me that eating is too much effort to snack and drink bad things, breakfast, lunch and dinner become so integral to eating! Up side is i think ill be in shape as well as having nice teeth. But seeing your after results gives me motivation!

I have traditional braces. My case was too severe for Invisalign but even if I could qualify for Invisalign, I’d rather have traditional braces because you still have all the pain like you do with traditional braces and the idea of changing aligners so often sounds like no fun! Getting my braces tightened every 6 to 8 weeks is nice because between most of that time periods, I’m not in pain. I love how you described that your teeth are constantly moving and are tender. It’s like once you teeth finally get used to that week’s set, it’s time to change them and here we go again with the pain. I am an adult with braces but I actually felt more confident in smiling since getting them because everyone can look at you and know, hey her teeth are getting fixed! I embraced it and get all the colors! I didn’t get to do this as a teen so I’m have fun as much fun as you can with them!

I am halfway thru my Invisalign treatment and I’m pretty happy with the process. The lingers can be tight at first but to me that let’s me know it’s working. I had metal braces as a teen and my result came with more issues from the orthodontist after treatment. My daughter is in metal braces now (with a totally different orthodontist) and her experience has been so great it prompted me to get braces again too. Given all my years of dental work I couldn’t get the metal ones. The process honestly isn’t bad and I’m super happy I did it !

Thank you for honest review, this really seems to be rather quick and aesthetics oriented solution compared to real braces which fix also all the bike issues

I got my Invisalign Monday. After watching your channel and a few others.. I guess it depend on the individual how they're teeth will form at the end of the process. I've had no pain. But actually, i think your teeth turned out very nice.. Thank you for the video...

I'm on week 2 and haven't had any pain or headaches at all. I do wish I had gone through this when I was younger, especially for palatal expansion. I had an MSE (Maxillary Skeletal Expander) just before I started this Invisalign and while I got some upper expansion I wish I had one when I was younger to get even greater results. Time will tell with my current treatment. I think every child should see an orthodontist at least once or twice, especially if you have bad tongue posture like I did.

I can relate, I've had my teeth straightened by invisalign and I'm really happy with the results. I wish I'd had it done when I was younger but better late than never. I'm on the retention stage now, my next dentist appointment will be on the 6th of September and I think after that I won't have to wear a retainer during the daytime anymore, only at night.
