We raised our first 3 hogs this fall, and they were small. They weighed in at 144, 123, and 121... We were a little embarrassed but went ahead with our processing date. In this video we go and pick them up and share our experience with the meat processor we chose as well as show how much pork we got back in the end.

I grew up on a farm until I joined the military, and I don't think you raise anything (vegetables or meat) as cheap as you can buy it in the store because farmers have mass production down to a science and make what little money they make on volume. The difference is you know exactly what was put into these animals (food/medicine), how they were treated (ethically, lots of space to live), and how the meat was processed. There's value in that along with the self satisfaction of DIY and providing for your family!! Well only 8 more subs!!!! You should be over the top this weekend. 💪👏

We have 5 pigs, (rescues, not food) and my wife is pretty attached to them. So no eating them. We have about 15 chickens as well. Almost at 1k subs!!
