The Toxic Effects of Excess Iron:

Download Keto Essentials

In this video, we’re going to talk about red meat. Is red meat good for you, or is red meat bad for you?

Many of the well known so-called dangers of eating red meat don’t seem to hold up.

I don’t recommend consuming any processed meats. I recommend consuming organic grass-fed meat. Grass-fed red meat is not going to cause serious issues.

There are certain toxic chemicals that are generated when you heat protein, especially if you heat it with sugar on it like barbecue sauce. It’s best if you don’t overly cook red meat because the more you heat the meat, the more chemicals there can be.

You can also lessen these chemicals by adding:

• Mustard
• Garlic
• Black pepper
• Herbs (basil, hot pepper, oregano, rosemary)

People who already have excess iron may have a big problem with consuming red meat because it’s loaded with iron. Iron can accumulate and become toxic if a person consumes too much. If you’re consuming red meat and you don’t feel well after, you should have your iron tested because you may have iron overload.

Iron can affect the:

• Heart
• Brain
• Liver

Genetic conditions that can make iron overload worse:

• Hemochromatosis
• Beta thalassemia
• Sickle cell

Action steps:

• Don’t overly cook meat
• Consume grass-fed organic red meat
• Get your iron checked
• EDTA
• If you have one of the genetic conditions above, you may want to donate blood
• Avoid: supplements with iron, fortified foods, alcohol, iron cookware

Pharmaceutical commercials say it is bad, so it must be good.

Grass fed steak and spinach salads saved my anemic life! My energy returned. My hair grew longer and thicker; and my skin finally looked healthy again.

My initial reaction to the title was: Are bricks good or bad? You can build a house with them or you can smash in windows. It depends on how you use them.

I didn't eat meat for over 20 yrs and I was severely over weight. Not until 3 yrs ago when I began consuming red meat, I started losing weight. Along with keto and IF, I've lost 85 lbs and I feel more satiated after I eat a meal, unlike my old habits of eating lots carbs to fill me up instead of red meat. Red meat is amazing!

This reminds me of when I was taking Statistics 1 and 2 in college and I realized how easy it is to cause any study to prove almost anything!! Do what works for you. Use common sense.

Yep. I recall being told at a recent annual medical exam not to eat red meat as I explained I had eaten a burger with fries and large coke. The doctor quickly pointed out that tiny bit of hamburger meat was the bad part. Yep, I was polite and never looked back. I fired the idiot.

Thank you, Doc, for this video. I live in Zambia, where most of our food is organic or meats organic grass fed. Was having a tough time making a decision based on observational studies.

Everything in moderation, and that includes organic grass fed - and grass finished (no growth hormones, antibiotics, etc.) red meat. It is amazing how much little meat it can take to feel full. An added benefit (for me).

About Iron Cookware, It's actually the healthiest one to use for cooking ! Teflon is toxic and may cause cancer. I guess you have to find the good balance of iron but in that case, reduce red meat instead of replacing Iron cookware. Iron cookware can last a whole lifetime

Also, people tend to eat high levels of carbs with red meat.

It like saying churches cause crime because there are a high number of churches in cities where there is high crime rate.
