Fuck a root canal, they just pulled my severely infected tooth. Had a gnarly abscess, half my face swollen after, pain to the point of seeing stars. Couldn’t eat, sleep or do anything. They pulled the tooth, gave me a week of antibiotics. This is day 7 and I feel like a new man. The infection isn’t gonna come back cause they pulled that bich outta me.

Why don’t they have a dentist at hospitals for emergencies. If someone has an infection and pain they can’t really wait a month or two to see a dentist. Also why do no dentists take insurance. I even have two different insurances

I get that part but why do you have to get inside the tooth to "fix" the problem? Every time a dentist gets inside to fix anything they end up injuring the tooth even more. Besides dentist don't fix a darn thing -- they only maintain until something else goes wrong.

I'll take antibiotics over none any day. After a weekend of Lansing and draining my own extremely swollen abscess I will take any medication that can assist at this point

Was on Penicillin for a week while waiting for my root canal. It helped mask the pain, but it did not get rid of the abscess. So after the root canal, the Dentist prescribed Clindamycin. Day after procedure the abscess had started to flatten out. Day 2 is even flatter, but still tender to the touch and tapping on the tooth makes it sore. Hopefully by the time my Clindamycin treatment is done the abscess is gone.

I had the same problem. I had 2 teeth infected and my dentist had to remove my 2 teeth to stop the bacteria to spread more. I'm taking antibiotics to kill the bacterias and heal the parts that were effected and it's really working. 👌 Amoxillin is one of the greatest antibiotics.

have a death tooth which not have root, canal is empty and got crown on it. 2 days ago drank cold water and now having fucking pain It turns out I have inflammation on my tooth. now dentist making an antibiotic syringe for 3 days and i'm thinking Is it necessary to remove an inflamed dead tooth?my dentist recommended to observe a week but i can't tolerate this paiiin😢

Why do you charge so much for a root canal whenit takes less than 2 hours total.??

I’m in deep trouble. Like he said, it’ll come back worse. Boy did it ever. 3 days on amoxicillin and it has improved but still unbearable. Ibuprofen does nothing to help. I’ve tried every “remedy”. My dentist is booked for another 28 days. This is the worse kind of hell. Why can’t we be like sharks and when we lose a tooth, another come right back? I’m really considering just having these thing yanked out. I can’t miss another day of work. I’m boned man.

I had dealt with inflammation for a decade CHOSTOCHONDRITIS . They still recommend root canals. Three failed at the same time. By the time i decided on my own what to do two rounds antibiotics. I went to a different dentist because they did everything there. They offered to redo them costing thousands of dollars 3 rd round of antibiotics. Since then i had thyroid toxicity storm crisis, high blood pressure. Pains on my right side head to toe. Arthritis on that side, asiatica, titinus ear, . I have 4 root canals on that side. I just got 1 pulled out January 2024 had a black root was infectedand painful. Now on antibiotics again lymph node golf size ball no warning but my right ear had been minor pain. Im getting that lower right root canal tooth out ant the top two. Its a torture. I watched " The root cause " thats been my life spending thousands of dollars on health . They don't recommend root canals for anybody specifically the people with autoimmune illness. Profit before health .

Then i am fuck cause my health plan doesn't cover the root canal treatment not only that but the endodontist want to schedule the appointment in october by the time is october i think it best to remove the tooth

Antibiotic/amoxicillin only control and manage the pain of an aching tooth cause by abscess inside, Antibiotics are not designed to be taken for more than 1 week, hence why dentist give patients amoxicillin for 5 or 7 days before returning to them for their dental procedure, in HOPES that the meds taken would be enough to let the anesthesia work properly during the operation

I think the dentist I used sucks . I m not going back for a failed root canal . I’m going back to to show him the failure so he may learn but I won’t give him another shot at it again .

Your statement makes it sound like the tooth is not connected to the body and thus antibiotics are no good but the tooth is not dead it is fed by the body and blood stream so why cant antibiotics travel up into the tooth ?

The correct answer antibiotic help to kill the bacteria and heal the infection..after 7 days you need to get the job done that’s means tooth extraction may be necessary.
