These are things that worked for me while I was in pain
1.warm saltwater
2. Ibuprofen (sometimes)
3. Orajel and other numbing ointments
4. Ice
5. Do not lay down flat sleep with your head elevated
6. Gargle the infected area with hydrogen peroxide as this will help with popping by the abscess after the tooth abscess has popped you will fill INSTANT RELIEF
However none of these are permanent solutions you need antibiotics like amoxicillin and you must have the tooth pulled or a root canal or some form of dental work done if you are reading this and are in pain I wish you the best I know how much it hurts

Spoken like a real dentist. No homeopathic methods because if we can cure or treat this at home then dentists don't make money.

Just trying to help since this video title was so misleading.

What always works for me is doing a coconut oil rinse for 20 minutes, 2 times a day. This is an extremely old practice called "oil pulling" and cold-pressed coconut oil is the best oil for it.

I'm only here because I slacked on oil pulling once it cured my last abscess and it came back some so I was just doing some research and seeing if there's any faster natural options. This oil rinse generally cures it completely in just 2 - 3 days for me personally. I was just wanting it done a little faster this time. lol If you're smart unlike me, you'd keep up the oil pulling as preventative measure once it's cured also.

If we all treated our teeth holistically at home then the dentists would not make any money anymore.

Dude, its 12:30 in the morning and no dentist near me is 24 hours. I was looking for a little relief until morning. This was not helpful at all.

So Larry Kline, if somebody comes to see you, has an abscess but no money, will you treat that person? I don't think so. You will say money up front. All dentists say that, and then they complain that if we got treated on a regular basis we could avoid these problems. I paid two hundred dollars for an x-ray and exam. Didn't get any help at all, because that was all I could afford. And now I am suffering. Anyhow, going to the walk in clinic for antibiotics is cheaper than going to the dentist.

Why would you make a video titled "how to treat an abscessed tooth at home" and then proceed to tell people to go see a Dr for antibiotics? ??

I took a tooth pick, and barely touched the infected area, and like a bolt of lightning, pain just hit me. It hurt so bad, I almost cried. Started spitting up blood, and other fluids. Felt a lot better after that. Now it's back to hurting again. And now that I know how bad it hurts when I nick it with a tooth pick, I'm terrified to do it again.

i was told not to put a over the counter fillin cap in the infected tooth where the absess is because it traps bacteria in the infected area

I cannot stress enough how much sinusitis and allergies play a role in misinterpreting tooth pain. About 15 years ago, I was warned by my dentist that my wisdom tooth might pose some issues down the road. A few days ago I noticed a sharp pain and an abscess around my wisdom tooth. After taking care of my teeth for 15 years, eg, flossing, extra strength fluoride paste, I thought my worst fears is coming true.

My family doctor prescribed me Amoxicillin for 7 days. The swelling and pain virtually disappeared after 3 days, but as an avid flosser, numbness immediately returned each time after I flossed. So I thought "Oh shit, the infection is still there". 2 more days of Amoxicillin, flossing always brought back the numbness. I haven't taken any Reactine (my usual antihistamine) during this period, but I thought what the hell. I work outdoors, so it can't hurt.

Within *five minutes* after popping a Reactine pill, the numbness turned into a tingling sensation and I could feel my face again! In retrospect it wasn't a lingering infection at all. It was just my stupid sinuses fueling the discomfort. So don't underestimate how allergies can affect tooth pain. Thankfully I just avoided wisdom tooth removal. For now.

That was pointless. How about telling us some things we can do while we wait for our appointment? I'm dying, here!

Dentists here no longer give antibiotics for abcess anymore. They usually clear up on their own. Lot's of salt water and iboprufen, and oragel. If not cleared up, or extremely swollen, after week or two, go see a dentist.

Our body is a living organism that has ability to heal itself. We just need to give it a chance. I know that, because I am helping people to remove an infection and save the tooth from RCT.
