Antibiotics for Dental Abscess: When to Take Them and How Long?
Показать описание
Antibiotics are used to treat dental abscesses by killing the bacteria that cause the illness. The most frequent antibiotics used to treat dental abscesses are:
Amoxicillin
Amoxicillin-Clavulanate
Clindamycin
Metronidazole
Penicillin V
These medicines are effective against a wide variety of bacteria that can cause tooth abscesses. The type of bacteria causing the infection and the patient's medical history will determine the recommended antibiotic. Antibiotics are often prescribed for 3–10 days, depending on the severity of the infection. Even if you feel better sooner, it is critical to complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping medications too soon may cause the infection to return. If you develop a dental abscess, you should see a dentist as soon as possible. Dental abscesses are dangerous diseases that, if not treated appropriately, can spread to other parts of the body.
