If you're interested in reducing the amount of alcohol you crave, this video is for you.

People drink alcohol for many different reasons. They may even drink it thinking they're getting some sort of benefit—but alcohol has zero health benefits.

There is a natural remedy that has virtually no side effects that can help reduce or prevent alcohol consumption. This remedy has been around since at least 600 AD, and it has been studied and shown significant results.

The effects of alcohol:
• It depletes vitamin B1
• It increases the risk of cancer
• It increases liver fat
• It increases liver inflammation
• It increases the risk of cirrhosis
• It increases estrogen

The best natural remedy to help reduce alcohol consumption is called kudzu. You can consume this in a salad or take it as an extract.

A placebo-controlled double-blind study done on mice showed that one dose (2 g) of kudzu significantly decreased the desire for alcohol within 2.5 hours.

Kudzu has very special phytonutrients that are involved in the breakdown of ethanol. It's very similar to certain medications used to help people curb their appetite for alcohol.

You can consume kudzu a couple of hours before an event where you might drink alcohol, and it can help reduce the desire for alcohol or the toxic effect of alcohol.

Kudzu also works on certain neurotransmitters in the brain directly involved in addiction. One study even suggests kudzu may help reduce cravings for cocaine.

I quit alcohol and weed 4 days ago, been drinking 6-12 beers a day and toking all day for 20 plus years. I am so thirsty, it's like nothing I drink with quench my thirst. I forgot what sober feels like, hugging my kids feels different, it's like I can see them clearly. Thank you for the info Dr. Berg, wish us all luck.

Hello everyone. I haven’t watched this video (yet) because I don’t drink, but I’ll share a story with you that may help you if you’re watching this while contemplating your drinking. I’ll give you the shortened version for the TL;DR crew. I was born in the 70s and both parents were partiers/drinkers and occasional drug users (mostly psychedelics). As I grew, my parents sunk deeper into alcoholism, my father being the more functional of the two as he had a career while my mother was a stay-at-home. By the early 90s, drinking had done enough damage to her that she was no longer functional on any level without her booze. She drank herself to death by 1998 after everyone had moved out of the home for self-preservation as the living environment was so toxic. My father continued his drinking and, while mentally and emotionally crippled, has somehow managed to stay alive, despite countless hospital stays, several of them spent in ICU. He still drinks to this day and even while inebriated, claims he’s given it up aside from “a couple of beers”.

Our family has been destroyed by the environment we were raised in. I rarely speak to either of my sisters. My sisters haven’t spoken to one another since my mother’s funeral. All three of us have mental stability issues and addictive personalities. I started taking drugs at 14 years old and through the years, have taken almost every street drug short of crack and heroin. Luckily managed to find my way out of substances and am trying to put what pieces of my life that are still salvageable back together.

The moral of the story is, if you’re reading this contemplating your own drinking, this will give you a general idea of what the future holds for you and possibly the generation(s) of your bloodline that will follow if you continue choose booze. I hope you’re able to find your way out of the maze.

Love,
Tom

After drinking heavily for the last 30 to 40 years I finally gave it up completely 2 weeks ago. Besides rotting your iiver alcohol is very hard on the heart. I have some serious heart issues now and can no longer afford to drink. I am moving in with my son and his wife, and neither of them drink alcohol. I feel like I can finally beat it.

I was an alkie for over 40 years, but I've been sober for 10 years, 9 months & 23 days. A true alkie always remembers his last day. (Oct 05, 2011), because when you quit for good, you count the days, then weeks, then months etc. It's not easy at first, and it takes a long time before you don't want a drink anymore, but it can be done. I read a good book called "The power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg which helped me understand the process of addiction, and the steps one can take to change. Highly recommended.

I just stopped drinking today, not sure if can actually do it though. I lost a good amount of weight doing keto and intermittent fasting even though I drank alcohol throughout.
I had Vodka 40 proof with soda water, lime juice and low sugar cranberry which actually had erythritol or whatever its called.
About 3 of those a day. I just want to be healthy now I'm 51. Gave up smoking but I vape, lost weight, now I want to tackle my drinking and eventually get off the vape

Edit: Thanks everyone who replied to my comment it touched my heart to know people I've never met took the time to say kind and helpful words ❣

I quit drinking 9 years ago, and it's one of the best gifts I've ever given myself. I am so much healthier, and look and feel so much better. Quitting drinking was a real life changer for me. And after I made it past the first few months, I've never missed it or craved it at all. I highly recommend it.

I’m 70 years old and I can’t tell you how many people I’ve known who’s lives were ruined by alcohol. Many are dead. For me, I quit for good 3 years ago. It was not easy. I wished so many times I could have a drink or two and be content. I was certainly a lot of fun when I did drink. I’m finally no longer missing drinking. I was recently with a group of people who were drinking a lot and I had no desire.

Im giving upon alcohol from today .
Although I only use to drink beers but I've realised that not only it hits hard on pocket but it makes you take foolish decision .
Alcohol is anti productivity and anti inner peace and happiness.
I wish whoever reads this, gets inspiration and power to continue his sobriety.

I stopped drinking one year ago on June 7 - I’m almost there - to one year sober! I was definitely consuming more than one should and I have to say that Dr. Bergs videos definitely contributed to me wanting to protect my Liver more! So many people don’t know how sick their liver can get and they won’t even have many clues until it’s too late!

Wishing all of you who are considering abstaining from alcohol strength and courage! I am just over 3 weeks and feeling good now, although it was a little rough for a couple of weeks. Not with cravings, more so with lethargy. To you youngsters out there - be very wary of alcohol as you get older. It sneaks up on you to the point you aren’t really aware of your intake. BE WARY OF ALCOHOL!!!

After 35 years of battling alcohol consumption, I walked into an AA meeting two years ago and I have been alcohol free and happily liberated ever since. I have been able to avoid it all together and I don't miss it. AA performed a miracle for me.

My dad was an alcoholic, he was born in 1926 and quit drinking in 1970 at age 44, he passed away in 2021 a month before his 95 th birthday.

I became an alcoholic at age 14, I just turned 27 two weeks ago and celebrated one year sober a week ago. 12+ years of my life I wasted going to jail and getting fired from my jobs and getting my car impounded and license suspended, waking up covered in my own piss and/or naked and making everyone around hate me. Finally had to go to rehab and it was the best decision I ever made, the important thing is that you WANT to get sober if you have a problem. It'll never work if you are content with your life falling apart which gets old very quick. Anyone out there who is seeking help, please drop everything if you have to in order to get the help you need, it'll save your life

Great advice for those with a drinking problem. Reading the comments makes me realize just how rampant alcoholism is. It's encouraging to read the messages filled with hope for recovery. I have a beer most nights and maybe a single bourbon w/ ice, but never more. Some nights I don't drink anything. Alcoholism runs on both sides of my family so I've been very aware of my intake for many years now. Was in the music business for over a decade and knew many addicts, and that always made me very cognizant of my own limitations.

Dr. Berg thank you for doing this video. I’ve been a heavy drinker for 5 yrs; about 10 shots a day, everyday. After seeing this, ordered Kudzu and began taking it. Haven’t drank in 3 days and counting. You are a blessing 🙏

It's been ingrained in this culture that alcohol can be consumed without a negative effect. Thanks, Dr. Berg, for continually highlighting its negative effects.

During the lockdown, alcohol was a problem for me. I recently stopped drinking due to my trainer's encouragement. I feel better, I've lost weight, my joints don't hurt and I really don't miss it. Great video, great comments from viewers 👏 👍 😀
