Honestly I smoked from 15-29 years old quit once before but have stuck to it this time. My tactic. When I ended up getting an upper respiratory infection not from smoking. I blamed my illness and every ill feeling every painful cough on the smoking I told my self smoking did this to me and will kill me I keep telling my self smoking is disgusting I avoid people smoking in public. I have completely changed my mindset to smoking and cigarettes are the enemy and so far so good just thought I’d share what helped me

I stopped smoking cold turkey. It was rough on my body for 3 weeks. It’s now been 2.5 months. Feeling good & no slip ups.

Umm honestly I kept a pack with me and on me the entire time until I just forgot about it one day and lost it completely. I wrote down on a sticky note why I want to quit as a constant reminder that 1.) it’s always going to be there so might as well live with it and 2.) if you really want to quit, like really really want to, then you would do anything in your power to quit. Cuz if you don’t, then that means you truly don’t want to quit. I also quit weed at the same time as well, and it was the best decision I’ve made in my life. I’m a month clean and it was literally due to not getting it out of my life but out of my mind. Huge difference. Hope it helps
