Seeing her overconfidence because she couldn't feel pain reminded me of one episode in Heroes when Claire's real mother locked her up in a trailer with burning flames.

Claire couldn't feel pain but she could still experience suffocation. She felt fear for the first time in a while. Really makes you think, just because you can't feel pain, doesn't mean people can't find a way to hurt you.

They didn't include the best and most hilarious part of the episode, where House and the girl have a showdown of who suffers more? Can't believe it. Lol

Do you guys ever think how amazing the makeup people are in this show? Like, the mother's injuries must've taken ages to apply

She was already able to feel emotional pain, since cipa doesn't effect emotional pain as mentioned by Foreman and Chase.

a B12 deficiency that's chronic enough to cause peripheral neuropathy will not get better after a single shot of B12 no matter how mega the megadose is. it'll take closer to six months to start seeing a change, and that's after a month of building your depleted B12 stores. B12 nerve damage can also become permanent if left untreated for too long, as well as causing issues with speech and balance and causing extreme mood swings, not just guilt. SPOILER, she had a tapeworm, but they should still run an intrinsic factor autoantibody serum to rule out autoimmune pernicious anemia (typically secondary to autoimmune atrophic gastritis). B12 deficiency can be deadly if it's left untreated for too long because B12 aids in DNA synthesis and cell reproduction, which is why a B12 deficiency is frequently misdiagnosed as a neurodegenerative disorder like Parkinson's, dementia, or MS

My Nana's sister had this (not the tape worm but the can't feel pain thing), and she lived a good 62 years with it until 2009 where her stomach ended up getting a small rupture, and after a few days she went to the hospital and it was too late to save her as the small hole became a large one, she felt none of the pain that would come with this, so my nana just thought she had the very bad case of the flu

I know he is consistently 99% right in this show, but do sign that waver first before opening her up.

I honestly dont know what would be more terrifying. I life with nothing but constant pain. Or a life without any pain. Both would be their own kind of hell.

Love how they show doctors in this show being like Hollywood detectives desperately trying to solve a mystery. Then in real life it feels like the doctors want to rush me out the door if they do one test and it doesn't give a conclusive answer.

Honestly the Eosinophil levels comment would've had my eyebrows raised already even more than the B12 levels. Since Eosinophils are specialized in parasitic infections.

I like how House can be given the most random of comments by someone and that gives him a Eureka moment as he finally figures it out.

There is nothing in any show that I enjoy more than the House & Wilson scenes

A very specific tapeworm that eats B12. I kinda guessed it when talk started to evolve around B12.

I knew a girl irl
No pain felt
She attempted self immolation
Her burns were
I helped her change dressings
Never flinched at all
She wasn’t even in hospital more than a couple days
My mom was in a grease fire
She spent the summer screaming in a burn unit

i hope the nurse taking a picture with her phone sanitized it too...

Your tapeworm is very impressive. You must be very proud.

I know she’s immune to pain, but she looks like she’s immune to horror too

"The world's record's over 60" - I thought he'd say something like "Let's put it back to grow a bit longer
