It's worse than they are telling us. An emergency responder said, "We have to bypass the bodies and focus on rescues." that alone tells you it is worse than we are hearing. Praying hard for everyone!

I can’t help but think weather warfare. A month out from the election right in some of the reddest areas in the country. I lived in Florida for over 30 years. I’ve seen a lot of hurricanes. I’ve never seen one strengthen this fast that’s this large. Usually the really big ones don’t become CAT4. I’m thankful we here in Greenback TN have had a drought all summer. Made it easier to handle all this rain we’ve gotten. God, please deliver us from the evil in our country. Bless those affected by this devastation

God of gentleness and love, We entrust to your care all those in need of any form of healing, and ask you to guide and sustain all who offer them healing and hope.

My grandmother lives in Asheville. She is a hardcore liberal and does not believe in preparedness. I am firstly praying that she is alive because no one can reach her. Secondly if she alive I pray that this opens her eyes. I am so thankful people like you make these videos to teach us. I am in my late twenties and still trying to learn and prepare everyday, things that I was not grown up being taught. Thank you Patara

I am in tears for my state of NC. My neice and her kids are stuck in the mountains of Boone. Only way to get to her is to hike. Lower neighbors are getting together to hike food and water to them. Please keep them in your prayers

I live in Spartanburg SC. Six people have died in county. I have between 80 and 100 large
trees down none fell on house. My daughter and Sil had 2 land on there house and many more

Patara, we don’t care what you look like-we’re just happy to see you safe and so grateful that we are being able to hear from you!

People think I'm crazy when a storm is coming and I preach wash clothes, towels, linens, and scrub your bathrooms. Put water into 5 gallon buckets as backup to clean your home and flush your toilets. The list goes on. Praying everyone comes out of this safe, healthy, and blessed!

Patera I was never into politics very much. Until this year when I have been watching you and I thank you so much for opening my eyes and making me really really care about our country. Thank you, patera!!!

One big lesson learned from this is keep cash on hand! We are 20-30 minutes from the flood zones but our groceries stores/gas stations have no internet service so they cannot accept credit/debit cards. Some are taking checks but some are cash only. I’ve been surprised and the people who are freaking out because they don’t have a check to use or any cash just to buy groceries. Be prepared folks. This is what can happen very quickly.

I hate it when a person opens up to a personal crisis and the response is that the other person has it worse. "Well, my boo-boo's bigger." Having lived in 3 different climates in the United States, I know that soil in various parts of the nation handle water (Florida's sand) is a whole lot better than clay in Ohio. We can't focus on who has it worse, but to focus on an individual's crisis and true need. I ferreted out local TV stations up through where the storm has struck and my heart grieves! It's bad! Yes, our Florida coast was slammed hard and I feel for that for sure. Yet seeing people sitting in a school shelter having lost everything they had and they have 7 children, how do I do comparisons? Listen to Patara about prepping for these events because she's correct. Bad news is that I'm hearing rumblings that another is forming down in the Caribbean just like Helene did. PRAY PEOPLE!

Cocke County here. Newport, Del Rio and surrounding counties are dealing with devastation. No power, no cell phone signals , water turned off, displaced families with children. Bridges are compromised or totally wiped out. The people here are strong and like you said very tight knit. Sending prayers to our own and neighboring states.

My home is up very high on the mountain but can't get up there. Chimney Rock is completely gone. Lake Lure is gone and don't know how many landslides. I pray my home is still there. But it's going to be a long time before I can get up there. Prayers for everyone that was in the path of this storm.

Samaritan’s Purse, Franklin Graham’s organization, helps families during disasters like this and it is a faith-based charity. They place boots on the ground to help people recover.
