The Forsyth Humane Society in North Carolina is in need of donations and people willing to foster animals and pets that were also affected by the hurricane. I can't post links, but I encourage people to donate what you can.

45, 000 Dock Workers went on strike today.
The materials desperately needed to rebuild the damage will not be arriving on the ships

the strength of humans coming together and helping one another is just as powerful as any storm keep up faith and everyone will overcome this in time

So proud of everyone coming together. So many organizations, businesses and schools here in NC collecting supplies to take to our neighbors in Western NC. So many roads still closed or completely washed away in many places like Asheville. God bless the crews trying to clear the roads so more help can get out there. My heart breaks for everyone affected. Thank you FEMA and volunteers coming from out of State. Americans really come together when we need to. Thank you to our wonderful Governor!

This is so heartbreaking. Asheville is a beautiful city that my in-laws were planning on moving to.

Dump as always making it about himself and ruining the recovery of the people devastated by Helene.

It won't be long before the disaster capitalist ghouls and private equity pirates set up shop in NC and buy up most of Asheville and Swannanoa. The agony of the present moment will be supplemented by saying goodbye forever to the loveliness that is Asheville. And Swannanoa and the River Arts district.

Such a great town that we visited often when we live in Georgia. So incredibly sad but, hey, Mother Nature is unrelenting in its pure beauty and pure destruction.

US News claimed that Asheville is the 17th best place to live in the US. They may have to revise their list.

My brother lives in Murfreesboro Tennessee, i spoke with him two ago, the only thing they’ve had there is a lot of rain, my heart just aches for these people, the destruction is so sunning, I have a good friend in Mississippi i haven’t been to reach her, and i hear there’s another storm headed thst way .

If your hot water heater isn't damaged, it's a great source of water.

The destruction is wide spread. FEMA is out there and was deployed prior to the storm. Please take the time to find out what’s going on from reputable sources.

One of the huge things that will need to be addressed where do you put all the trash? I mean there’s a lot and lots of debris. That’s always been a question for me, especially the problem except separating asbestos from the other debris.
