First time I ever saw someone tell of the bending. Been doing this for 45 years and I had to discover this shit on my own when I started. Thank you for helping the newbies. They gotta eat too.

He makes that look so easy but doing drywall mud is an art to get it right the first time like that

A master at his best. I like to watch your clips. You make it look so easy. You are a true tradesman of the highest quality.

Thank you for the great explanation. Gives us beginners motivation to try to do it ourselves!!

You should definitely get a percentage. I just bought some trowels because of you and I love trowel now! Never using standard spackle knives again!

Do you have a video that talks about the "must have" tools/supplies for drywall repairs, and the brands you recommend?

Good to see you using a trowel.Ive noticed a lot of American plasterers just use the big broad knives. And I don't like it.

VC I've been watching awhile. Love the lessons. Show us a vid of setting up the plastic screen to kill the dust, with 2 by 4's.

Trowel touch is different than touch with a standard knife. I’ll stick with the knife.

Gotta say, a hawk is great for hot mud though.

I am a pro finish carpenter. In certain critical cases, fitting my work on top of inside and outside drywall corners finished at dead 90, with no local build-up to affect the angles, especially at the outside corners, would be ideal and save a lot of tedious scribing. I have never been lucky enough to encounter such corners, even when I have requested special care from very good finishers. My question: given the nature of corner beads and tape, is such an ideal condition even possible? If so, what are the techniques you would recommend to achieve it? Thx.

Used to be able to smooth it nice to finish with a sponge, haven’t touched a towel in almost 10 years and now it’s frustrating patching mud.

why I've switched to FiberFabric (or whatever its called, I forget :-) for ALL butt-joints. Saves a coat! Fast set to bed, one-coat of "liquid wall" (as you say :-) and its done! I never sand, preferring to skip-trowel finish. Heyyy...I'm North Italiano, and love that finish!

The mud looks so soft. Is that premixed or you mixed it yourself. I wonder which one is better

When you say butt joint, you're talking about joints vertical or horizontal that don't have the factory tapered edge, right? Cause i saw you the other day doing a verticle joint with just one application pass wide, and two or three feathering.

@vancouvercarpenter I wasn’t sure larger sizes so I first picked up, 6”, 10” knife & 13” trowel (maybe12”🤔) should I go larger?

It was feeling like a 14” & 16” knife/trowel would of come in handy my last skimming job. (I’m a finish carpenter by trade so this is a weekend thing lol)
