Sole proprietor of my own small painting contracting business. 31 years experience, own my own for 9 years. With that being said, my lines and precision work are only as good as the tapers I follow up. Bravo!

I'm not in this trade at all. In fact, I'm a painter (cabinetry doors/drawer fronts, man doors etc...) but I LOVE watching this guy work lol. Indeed makes it look super easy. Very satisfying to listen and watch

Just tried taping today…. Definitely not as easy at it looks, which is a testament to his skill level. I had difficulty spreading the mud. The placement of mud is crucial on the knife and having the right thickness. Anyway know way to be an expert on the first try so sometimes you just have to knuckle down and give it a try. I may have some bridges to take out and sand down but will get there with more practice. My drywall looked like it a right state as well. Removing the popcorn ceiling seemed a breeze in comparison to the fixes that I uncovered. - popped nails, gaps, , missing tape where I thought was a crack originally, really bad previous taping. I definitely did not expect all that before I started. Slowly getting there though and binge watching all your content. Thanks for all the tips. By the way you can never have enough of the same content. Every situation is different and the more you watch the more you learn.

Take a gander at this, and activate some of your mirror neurons, and you are a professional finisher in no time. Not really, but this guy was a godsend when I finished all the walls and ceilings on my second floor.
The guy that bought the house told me that the painter couldn't believe I was an amateur, probably took 4 times as long for me, compared to a professional.

It takes time and practice. I’ve done enough of this in my lifetime. I will hire out.

Can you please clear up whether you are using fast set mud or all purpose "air dried" mud? I thought you had a video recently that showed all purpose mud will shrink and cause gaps underneath. Thanks! Great work per usual.
