Mr. Plinkett ended Star Trek as his review of Picard was more heart-wrenching and entertaining than Discovery and Picard combined.

Remember when we had hope for Picard too? Yeah, I'm not being fooled twice.

I’m not interested in any Star Trek show that Kurtzman is involved with.

Nothing outside the Canon category will ever be Star Trek to me. I grew up watching TNG in the 90s as a kid and I fell in love with it. What we're getting now doesn't feel like Star Trek anymore. It doesn't make me feel the same joy and optimism I felt as a kid, watching that show.

What I wouldn't give for a skilfully written series set after the Dominion War.

Be prepared for a massive bait and switch like they did with ST:P
Star Trek died in 2009 when JJ Abrams got the franchise. It's time to accept that, at least we have the classic series.

It’s connected to Discovery, so I'm not interested

Look what they did to Captain Picard. Do you think they will respect Pike at all?

My thoughts: don't give money to people who hate you. That includes people who bait and switch.

Leaving aside all the politics, and arguments about what Star Trek should be, . . . . . . . the writing is just bad. Bad, bad, bad.

I want to be optimistic, but Kurtzman and his flock are still attached to it. If they really want this to succeed, they need to get rid of everyone attached to STD and STP and find writers who have an appreciation for real Star trek and interesting science fiction.

Trek died in 2009 and is never coming back, to much damage has been done to the brand now.

CBS will dupe you again, just like with Star Trek "it will be a quiet, respectful characters study, nothing like Discovery!" Picard. Just sayin'.

They will probably "Last Jedi" Pike, since he's a well loved character and promote Number One as the main character who is always right. Anson Mount is a great actor and perfect for the role but I didn't enjoy the way they wrote Pike in STD, everytime he would give an order (he's the captain after all), someone (Burnham or the Admiral what's-her-name) would talk over him and - of course - be right.
I still don't understand the push for a Section 31 spin-off, it goes against the whole idea of Star Trek. I liked the way Section 31 behaved during the Berman era, it made sense but not in the Kurtzman era because Alex Kurtzman just doesn't get "Trek" or even the purpose of a "secret" agency.

My thoughts on Star Trek are very straightforward, if Secret Hideout or Alex Klutzman are involved, then I'm not interested!

That's IF it actually gets made. Go watch Midnight's Edge episode about this.
No funding = no Strange New Worlds.
And ... i'm okay with that.
(EDIT: Well, that's what I get for commenting before watchin the whole video.
That being said, i'll simply reply...
SECOND!

I started watching Stargate: Atlantis again last week. You know, it was not my favorite Stargate initially but I now see that it was some really great television and very rewatchable. The cast is great, they all get along and work as a team to problem solve and the stories are often complex and engaging. I miss good TV. Next up on my plate, SG: SG1 then BSG from beginning to end. Star Trek is dead a buried in my home.

Looks like they're trying to compete with The Orville.

"A return to Star Trek's optimistic roots" is what we heard the first two times around. Not falling for it again.

The prime/Kelvin time line can disappear into the dustbin of history as far as I'm concerned.
