When that guy told Reynolds that he'd never stop chasing him & Reynolds kicked him into a jet engine, I was hooked.

I openly weep for the loss of Firefly.
It is a show that has held the test of time and one of the most original things ever aired on TV.
I openly curse those executives that had no faith in it's premise.
Long Live The Browncoats.

"Curse your sudden yet inevitable betrayal..." I rewatch this show every year. It is great stuff.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me.

Leave the men where they lay
They'll never see another day
Lost my soul, lost my dream
You can't take the sky from me.

I feel the black reaching out
I hear its song without a doubt
I still hear and I still see
That you can't take the sky from me.

Lost my love, lost my land
Lost the last place I could stand
There's no place I can be
Since I've found Serenity

And you can't take the sky from me.

My wife and I loved this show when it was on TV. So much so were heavily involved with the fan scene after it was cancelled. We met pretty much all the major cast and a lot of the production crew. I look at the 14 episodes of this show as some of the best writing of a TV show EVER. Period. It's like the Shakespeare of our time in terms of dialogue.

Of course I also love the irony of the show that Joss Whedon created a show like this, not realizing at the time that he was making a serious critique of modern day liberalism. Perhaps someday he will. :D

Just goes to show Joss wasn’t always shit.

Buffy seasons 1-3, Angel, Firefly and Serenity are great.

"You are in their homes and in their heads and you have no right" that and "you meddle and people don't like to be meddled with" are awesome quotes.

I also enjoyed that it gave off a certain futility when fighting The Alliance.

The Alliance was always presented as an unstoppable threat just over the horizon that you could do nothing but mearly slow its ascent to dominace.

It is a very visceral experience.

I love Firefly dearly, but I think only the most die-hard fans still have any serious hope for a revivial of it. The moment when it might have been possible with the original crew is long past: Ron Glass is dead and Summer Glau has grown up. Any revival with a new, or partially new cast would run the risk of failing to capture the chemistry that was such an integral part of it.

One of the best shows ever made. It still boggles the mind to think of how it was treated by the network. They had the next 'big thing' networks are always looking for and they just threw it away. Both the show and the movie are classics that I rewatch every couple of years.

A positive of such a short lived series is you can binge on it over a weekend and it never feels like homework...I watch the series and movie at least once a year.

If you want to experience a poor man's Firefly movie watch the episodes "The Train Job", "Ariel", and "War Stories" in one sitting. R.I.P Firefly....gone but not forgotten.

....and yes, "pain is scary."

Love Love LOVE Firefly and Serenity.  One of my favorites.  Ever!

What made the show was the chemistry between the crew on screen. That is what made the show and shows like it great.
I think Firefly is done, I wouldn't mind seeing another show set in the universe, but it should be a new crew dealing with the aftermath of the revelation in Serenity. Maybe have members of the original crew guest star on occasion if its appropriate.

When I watched Firefly, I learned that the sky can't be taken from a man, who lives free!

Joss has become such an SJW schmuck in recent years if he were to pick up Firefly and continue it he would undoubtedly ruin it and turn it into the opposite of what it was.

I re-watch it every 2-3 years. one of the best shows ever created. It was many years ahead of its time.

Jane: “That’s why I don’t kiss em on the mouth!” That line makes me laugh hard every time I watch that episode.
