The Non-Canon Expert explains whether Palpatine ever planned to reveal his true Sith identity as Darth Sidious to the galaxy following the fall of the Jedi and Republic and the rise of the Empire.

The other reason why he wouldn't is because his Sith persona was the head of the Separatists. If any separatist survived they would have put together that he was behind the war. People often focus too much on how things played out with the Republic winning. Palpatine didn't need the Republic to win, it was just his preferred outcome. If the separatist had won and overthrown the Republic, he would have ruled as Darth Sidious with Dooku as his main lieutenant. The whole Brilliance of his plan was regardless of who won he would be in charge of the Galaxy.

A great point to "not showing his sith Identity" is when he meets Ezra in Star Wars Rebels for the first time... He appears as a more friendly version without the scarring from Mace and the Sith Eyes.
That is basically how he looked to any of the normal people of the galaxy.

why the hell would he? the sith got more done in hiding then they ever did in the open. that anyone who studied galactic history would also have red alarms screaming at the revelation would only make it an even worse idea.

It was better not too. Most Imperial citizens wouldn't be able to distinguish between Sith and Jedi. And probably thinks he's a hypocrite.

If you put two and two together and recognized Palpatine as a Sith, the only thing that would be hard to put together would be your body after he sics Vader on you.

Palpatine was too brilliant and clever he new if he announced that he was a Sith the opposite of what I Jedi is and the true meaning of the empire he new the Galaxy and the people would have turned against him and tbh he would have always had enemy's if he couldn't control people he would consider them a enemy and have them wiped out

Did not Palpatine reveal his "sith philosophical worldview" when he presented to the Senate recording of the Jedi, who tried to arrest/murder him? In Revenge of the Sith novel?

Very good points, Plus if he revealed his identity it would only make it very difficult to keep order in the Senate, the sith are widely regarded as "evil", this would not help palpatines empire in its early stage's and would create more enemies than allies, and the rebellion against him would become stronger faster

If the galaxy was invaded by the Uzong Vong, he might have revealed himself after he repelled the invasion. This would paint himself as well as future Sith as the saviors of the Galaxy.

Why would he, it would in a way. Undermine, the rule of 2. In that the rule of 2 operated on cunning, and guile. Yes, at this point the rule of 2 had reached its pinnacle. Why, be arrogant and go against a 1000yrs of teachings. Yes, the Sith are arrogant, but not overly stupid. Even the stupid ones wouldnt give up an advantage as juicy as i have powers and you dont. You have also spread so much propaganda about the Jedi and the common ppl cant discern between the 2. Youve been playing down your powers to all of a sudden go. "Oh, yeah. These are not the droids your looking for" line. Not a great political move for any politician. Great video
