Instead of bringing Palpatine back, they should have just brought Snoke back and used the same clone solution. Just explain Snoke has clone bodies because his fall apart and his goal was to get Kylo Ren to be powerful to steal his body. Since Snoke wore gold, it would have been cool to make him different, obsessed with wealth and looks, instead of being a sith wanting power only.

The issue i have with all of this is that it basically takes the Jedi prophecy of Anakin bringing balance to the force and just throws it right in the garbage in the pursuit of more money

The survival of the evil spirit of an extremely powerful vilain is not something new in the sci-fi - fantasy genre. Take for example Sauron and Voldermort . Sidious used also cloning science to endure his spirit after transfering it. Personally i'd like also to see these scenes you're talking about on big screen!

it would have been coo. though i find it hard to believe that disney would ever add anything to the films, even for the sake of improvement. not to sound like a downer or anything. i'm glad these stories exist, whether you find them good or bad, for better or worse, it allows our imaginations to run wild and i love that. 👍

If they had a flash back scene in the last jedi like when gadalf fought the balrog but palpatine transferring his counciousness through the force that would of been so epic! Brilliant film but could have been that much better with a couple of gap filler scenes

He will never now return..he had to be fully alive in order to fully truly die.. and non existence is preferable to being trapped in chaos of the dark side.. but yeah they should've put in a prologue showing how he survived from fall down the shaft in ROTJ..eg they did something like that at start of The Two Towers movie..with Gandalf..it did give away that he was still alive if you hadn't read the books but set up the events to come well enough?

What I find so fascinating is Dark Empire established Palpatine’s return in a clone body, and no one said boo to a goose over it. Flash forward to post Disney acquiring Lucasfilm, and all the naysayers have an issue with it. Because it’s Disney.
