Our free resources:

If like some of our hardest working customers, you've lost 50 - 100lbs in body-weight, you may have some excess loose skin on your body.

In this video and accompanying article, I'm offering you 5 amazing solutions to combat loose skin after weight loss.

Some of you may believe that it's impossible to fix loose skin after weight loss without surgery, but I'm here to tell you that you can.

In fact... I have 4 other solutions you should try before you even think about letting a surgeon near you.

Here are my 4 remedies for loose skin after weight loss before surgery should be an option.

Step #1: Build More Muscle

Now that you've lost a lot of body fat, you have ended up with space on your frame and inside your skin, which is causing it to be loose.

My recommendation is to clean bulk muscle tissue (increasing muscle without adding fat) to fill up the space, improve your body shape, and help tighten up your loose skin.

More muscle mass will also ignite your metabolism and help with another one of my recommendations further down, of continuing to lose body fat. Two birds with one stone! Win-Win!!

Step #2: Protect your skin & Supplement with collagen

Protecting your skin from things that will damage its elasticity is the first stage of this step.

Quitting smoking, avoiding UV rays without sunscreen, and avoiding too much chlorine or other chemicals on your skin will help.

Daily moisturizing or a similar skincare routine maybe isn't what you're used to, but if you're open to loose skin after weight loss remedies, this could be the change you need to make.

Also, because a lot of loose skin after weight loss over 50 is caused by decreasing collagen production in your body, supplementing with collagen would definitely be beneficial.

Step #3: Continue decreasing body-fat (to 10-12%)

If you've been using the Fit Father Project programs to lose weight, you'll know the overwhelming benefits that come with reduced weight and body fat.

For that sake, continuing to lose body fat, down to a level of around 10-12%, will help you see whether any more invasive next steps are needed.

If you still have loose skin after you have got down to such a low percentage, you may need to decide whether you are happy as you are, or whether my last 2 solutions are needed.

Step #4: Non-invasive medical procedures (Fraxel lasers/radio frequency skin tightening)

Non-invasive procedures, such as Fraxel lasers or radio frequency skin tightening machines could be the next step you need to take if the previous 3 options haven't had the desired effect.

Radio frequency machines are freely available from beauty stores, Amazon or eBay. Sessions are also likely available at beauty centers and medical centers in your local area.

Fraxel lasers are also available, but I would suggest having this done by a professional at a reputable clinic.

If you have health care insurance, it would be worth checking out whether these types of treatments are covered.

Step #5 & Last option: Surgery

This is the option I hope you are able to avoid, but in some instances where my other 4 options haven't worked, it may be necessary to seek the professional opinion of a surgeon.

Having loose skin after weight loss cannot always be solved without surgery, but I would still urge you to give the first 4 options a shot before reaching out to your doctor or surgeon.

I really hope this information has been helpful for you, and wish you all the best as you continue your lifelong journey of being a fit father!

One thing that most people don’t realize is that your body completely replace itself every 3 to 5 years depending on your weight, so don’t stop exercising.

1. Build muscle to fill some of the space
2. Reduce exposure to harmful factors like smoking, etc., and increase collagen intake
3. Loose additional adipose tissue under the skin
4. Non-surgical therapy like lasers, etc.
5. Surgery

It can be very frustrating trading one body image issue for another. Thanks for letting people know there are options and to not give up on getting healthy.

I've been having a lot of success losing weight but have been worried about how to get rid of loose skin. I'm definitely going to start muscle building soon and just quit smoking so I hope that will help. Thanks!

this is a great topic because it happens to so many people ! We're so focused on losing the weight and feeling better, but then it's so tough dealing with the extra, loose skin. It certainly doesn't help for self-esteem and confidence. That's why it's so great to learn that there are natural options available instead of surgery. thank you for covering these solutions in your video!

Having vitamin C and hydrating your skin also helps heal the skin.

39 year old - 114kg... Started 3 months ago down to 94kg. Loving it, got Wellness App, Fitbit, changed my diet, eating 2200 Cals a day - drink more water - up at 05:30 Gym, exercise, back by 07:15 for a good Breakfast time with the kids feel good for the whole day, anymore walking that day or extra exercise is pure profit. Weight loss is a bit too fast, so I need to watch that.

Quite surprised that one of the more obvious solutions wasn't mentioned: fasting. As I'm sure you know, this is the prime catalyst for autophagy, which eats waste cells. Thanks to vocal proponents of fasting like Jason Fung, an increasing amount of the health community is becoming aware that the prevention and reversal of loose skin is one one of the touted major benefits of autophagy.

I went from 297 3 years ago and the past 16 months ive been bouncing between 175-185, i feel good, strong, but i have a few spots with loose skin on me, my stomache being my biggest problem area. Ive worked steadily to where i have only a tiny flap of skin, but it still is something that keeps me very self conscious

I let myself go from 186lbs to 285lbs over the course of two years. A doctor told me I was shockingly healthy after full body scans and other tests but it would obviously benefit me to lost the weight. It's been 2 months of working out now and I now weigh 238lbs. I'm trying to drop to 205lbs by the next 2 months but I'm starting to see stretch lines on my abdomen that are concerning. Especially since I'm trying to get ready for a Hawaii trip and want to finally feel comfortable with no shirt again.

The best way is to take preventative measures while losing weight. I'm overloading on collegen. I also take vitamin C, E, tumeric, garlic, iron (I am anemic), and ginger / tumeric. I am planning to add hyaluronic acid as well. Might take gelatin soon as well. I do this because I am in a large deficit and want to give my skin the nutrients it needs. :)

periodically adding in a water diet with high nutrient supplementation whilst still on a body building routine will force your body to metabolise the fat and protein in your skin. getting massages will also help your body access your skin. patience is the key. this is a marathon that has to last the rest of your life.

Already used gelatin in various fruit / vegetable sauces and soups instead of flour or other grain products, to make it more gravy and solid, and it's more filling that way, so i did well :)
