I'm pretty sick and tired of hearing to use paper towel but every basic paper towel brand leaves paper flakes all over the grill...

I have to say after 3 years of owning my Blackstone 36" griddle I sold it yesterday. I loved using it but it was a tremendous amount of maintenance. I agree with the comment below that it is a love hate relationship. I recommend if you are purchasing one to always keep it under a patio cover. We had the hard cover hood and the Blackstone Vinyl cover. Constant condensation during winter and we are in California. Unless you want to open it after it gets cold every few days and wipe it down expect seasoning cracking off and flaking into your food, re seasoning, then the wire wheel eventually. My brother and Dad also have one and face similar issues. Maybe Webers new rust resistant griddle will be a game changer? It is not the product. Griddles by nature are designed to be stored inside. If you store it in your garage and use it all the time you will be fine. Good luck all.

I have a love and hate relationship with the Blackstone after a year of owning one.

What is the difference between this and the blotchy dark spots? Are the blotchy dark spots over seasoning as well? I believe it is, just want to be sure. Thanks

Oh I am so glad you guys made this video. I though my griddle was rusting cause I haven't used it but it was cover. Thanks a lot.

Also those blotchy spots I’m talking about on my griddle at least they are smooth not rough at all should I do something about this?

I have had constant rust spots appearing even with the hard cover and vinyl cover. I keep it oiled but we don't use it every day and I'm sick of maintaining it after having it a few months now. Ready to sell it and go back to a regular grill

What are those white spots at the end... they are on my blackstone

Hey, my scraper has melt lines in the handle as well. Good to know I’m not the only one who make that mistake.

“Apply a small amount of oil” proceeds to cover entire griddle surface in heavy oil, in a video about over-oiling your griddle… this company’s starting to piss people off. They won’t remain the griddle monopoly for much longer.

These things are more trouble than they're worth 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for this. Put too much seasoning on my first time using it 😆. I'll go get a cleaning kit and try again

A little over seasoned isn't the end of the world.

How do I know I removed the over seasoning when using the stone?

After I use the stone I see white spots just like yours in this video. What is that from? Always wondered but the stone is the way to clean the griddle, but I have been using hot water then canola oil after with Shop Towels to re-season
