I just picked up a brand new Blackstone 36" griddle with VERY minor surface rust on the front lip at TSC for 50% off. Normally $350, on sale for $300, and I paid $150.00!! Hit the rust with a wire wheel, seasoned, and cooked steaks by the time the sun set 😃👍

Tip 6: If you have food burnt onto the griddle. Add a bit of hot water to it. Careful of the steam . That will boil the water and knock that food right off. Scrape it, make sure it's dry and oil for the next time.

Just seen this video. I usually clean and oil my griddle after each use. But, I didn't clean it a few days ago because I rushed to get out of the rain and forgot about the griddle. Went to use it again and had rust and the seasoning was just coming off. No big deal. I don't mind re seasoning it. But it could of been avoided. I also like the way you clean your griddle. I going to try it myself.

About to go outside and season her up for later. Looking forward to cooking many meals on my 22" two burner BS griddle. Nice video👍🏽

Honestly, the first thing you should do when you get done buying your Blackstone flat top grill is wash the top with soapy water and get the rust penetrant oil off it then start seasoning it

Getting ready to season our first griddle, and from watching various videos we’ll need to turn the burners on high to do the seasoning. As with your video I’ve seen other videos that also say when you start the griddle to do cooking, do not turn the burners on high to heat it up. So for seasoning which needs to be done on high, do I work my way up to high before I start the seasoning process or light it and turn to high right away? Thanks for the tips!

You don't turn off the griddle between seasonings continuous heat on high heat let each seasoning burn off before doing the next coat of seasoning .

Rusted outside is how I got my grill from the orange store. I saw a 36" Nexgrill all rusted (they don't come with a lid). I went and found the manager for that department and offered him 50 bucks for it. At first he wanted to go half price but he eventually let me have it for $50. About 30 minutes with a Scotchbrite pad and some soapy water and I had myself a grill. Note that fixing a damaged cooktop is the only time soap should come near your grill.

It’s going to be my first time making breakfast on my griddle. Do I use oil to cook my eggs or simply place on the seasoned griddle?

Darn! Wish I would’ve watched this first. Yesterday Walmart had about 10 extremely rusted grills on their outside area. It rains a lot up here in Oregon. I should’ve negotiated a price instead of buying the nice looking one in the indented box lol 😂

To the comment about wearing clothes, the lips of there griddles get super hot too.

Wear not only clothes, but I highly recommend cotton shirts. As a paramedic, I’ve seen a number of people get their favorite UA shirt permanently bonded to their lower belly. Believe me when I say, the hospital removing that melted plastic from your skin is way worse than the application of that plastic.

When i seasoned my grill the first time i did it on hot and warped my top. I didn’t know for sure or not until I seen this. So i ruined a $800 grill on day one. I notice when i clean it that it was warped. I just assumed I bought it like that smh

my traeger warp rock has a veritable warp drive. you shouldn't buy a traeger if you enjoy predictable, safe griddling.
