You don't need to go in and out of pose mode to parent objects to the armature, if you are in pose mode and select an object in the outliner it will select the object, allowing you to parent to the bone faster.

"keep offset" is "Object(Keep Transform)" in 3.0 and up. Thanks blender for changing the naming so all the tuts are confusing now.

I don't understand how you end up with 2 separate armature groups when originally the piston bones were duped from the first two bones. I tried to separate the bones and make two armature groups but it changes the position of the geometry.

I'm assuming this wouldn't export to FBX, anybody got a solution or is this a format limitation?

Hello and thank you for your tutorial! I am unfortunately stumped on the set up of this armature. I am not able to give both bones a damped track constraint. In fact, when I select between the two piston bones it makes no difference the constraint popup stays on and doesn't reset the way it did for you when switching between bones. Also, if I attempt to select the armature I receive the error, "failed to set value". Like I said I'm stumped here. I created my bones using control D in edit mode as described in your video.
