This hummus recipe is a mouthwatering spread from the Middle East. It's made with chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and other simple ingredients.

⭐️ Ingredients
2 cans (15 oz each) (460 grams) chickpeas or 3 cups cooked chickpeas
⅓ cup (80 grams) water, add more if necessary
4 tablespoons (60 grams) tahini, use runny tahini with a light color
3 tablespoons (45 grams) lemon juice fresh
1 small clove of garlic
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
5 ice cubes optional

GARNISH AND SERVE WITH
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons tahini sauce, optional
whole chickpeas, olives, fresh parsley, and sumac optional
pita bread

I found that first blending only tahin with ice cold water leads to extra fluffiness :)

Then add lemon juice first and blend for a few Pulses.
Then you can add all the rest and blend everything together :)

We font soak with sodium bicarbonate. It affects the taste even if you wash it… we soak it only in water. Its easy!

The tahini needs to be in there because thays necessary to make this even it's full name translates to chickpeas with tahini.

You know, I love middle eastern food, but I detest hummus! I know I'm crazy, but chickpeas are really pastey and I hate pastey textures! I'm the same way with beans and lentils!
