I am arab and this is the first time i have seen a westerner make hummus correctly. Garlic and cumin are optional. And we don’t use canned but i guess to save time its fine. Really impressed with the boiling the chick peas, using ice water.. well done.. this is why i like your channel. Well studied recipes i have made several things on your channel and they always turn out great 👍🏻

I literally followed this recipe to make hummus 1st time ever today. I used canned chickpeas and still the taste was soooo good. My hubby doesn’t even like hummus but today he finished half of the bowl. Thanks for such a great recipe Natasha ❤️❤️❤️

My friends love my home-hummus.
I’ve been making hummus for my American friends for 30 years, and I only gave my secret recipe to two people.
I’m sure you researched many recipes and practiced many times to catch some of the secrets to making great hummus at home.
Well done. Five stars.

It’s crazy how different store bought and homemade is. I feel like it’s so much cheaper to make homemade and taste much better. Can’t wait to try natasha’s recipe!

This is the absolute best Hummus tutorial! It’s the classic, traditional hummus with tahine recipe.
As for removing the chickpeas skins, I saw a profissional, Lebanese cook stirring vigorously the chickpeas during the cooking process, with a slanted spoon. Most of the skins get loose and float to the surface. Very easy to skim.
Great video!

I love Hummus. The 1 thing I really love about it is, you can add anything to it from, roasted peepers, Habanero Peppers for a kick of spice or even cheese.

It's true. I used to think hummus must be super complicated and it was always on the expensive side at the store. Then I tried a recipe and realized it was so easy to make, and now I make it all the time. And the difference in taste. Home made is a thousand times better and you can add many flavors to it. Make it to put on toast with veggies as dinner, as a side for lunch, as a dip for parties, etc. I make one with laurel and rosemary that is the bomb, and one with cilantro and little bit more lemon and chili and put it on fish and chicken. Gosh, I love hummus. Gonna try your recipe too!! thanks for sharing!

Thank you for keeping our lebanese traditional recipe ❤❤

I think my store-bought hummus days are over. I initially bought the ingredients for hummus (including dry chickpeas) to eliminate all plastic package waste and high prices for hummus. I followed this recipe and it is amazing. The method of combining all the liquid ingredients and hummus with the cold water is brilliant. It provides a silky smooth emulsification that comes out slightly warm (I used a blender).
BTW: the traditional Middle Eastern red spice that adorns hummus is sumac. It is crimson in color and has a sour taste. I used red chili flakes. You can really taste the difference a good quality olive oil makes when it is drizzled on top!

I love your recipe. I make hummus for our church for the Sabbath lunch along with some fresh veggies and basmati rice. We love it and I never have any leftovers to take home. It also makes a wonderful salad dressing. I’m addicted to hummus too.
