Love your shout out to the band. Very easy to not see past her voice

My favourite Janis Joplin quote was she was told that she should save her voice so she could have a longer career. Her replay was, 'So I should sound mediocre now so I can sound mediocre later'? She was a treasure.

Definitely raw and unpollished, balls out, nothing to hide, here I am! Type of music!

Hey great reaction guy. It is actually very touching to this old man to see younger people appreciating the icons of my youth. I remember the day Janis died, Jimi Hendrix, who was my hero, died just the month before, then we heard this news while we were in art class and everybody was in shock and mourning. Thanks for keeping her alive.

Janis wore her soul like a blanket trying to protect her from pain, hurt, anger, & even love! This woman was one of a kind, & sadly missed by everyone who loved & understood her music ❤ 💚 💙 She truly was a gift that was only with us for a short time, but what a glorious time it was!!!

Janis gives you her soul to the point of exhaustion in every song. 🤘🔥💯

“Like Their gift came out a pot of greens and neckbones” 😂😂😂. How adept you are at relatable metaphors cannot be overstated. Discovered your channel tonight and can’t get enough.

A woman who sang the blues like no other! What a voice! So much talent taken way too soon! I miss the days my mother played her records! What a great memory!

She was such a unique singer-she put everything into her songs. This one and Me & Bobby McGee are my favorites. She was such a sad soul. Gone too soon at 27. Miss her!

This song is like a hard punch to the stomach. It takes all your breath away. Yes, she gave it her all. Awesome!!!

Janis was known as the Queen of Psychedelic Blues. So awesome. My favorite!!!!

She was bullied at her school in Port Author, Texas and treated very badly by most people in that area, she got to be free when she left Texas in more ways than one, I treasure her songs and wish I could have seen her in person especially at Woodstock but I was only 10 at the time.

This voice came out of a young 20 something year old. She was an old soul.

Hey! What a nice surprise this was 🙌 I hope you have heard more of Janis since this video was posted two years ago ❤ She sure gave it all in every song, she sang her heart out every time.. And YES, this is music! I love to see how the music I was given from my parents still lives on another generation today, amazing! As a teen during the 90's I lived through the awesome grunge era of course, but that same time we also deep dived in the music "the older" generation listened to.. It was even better.. Janis and the 60's soul -forever in my heart ❤

I saw Janis in Baltimore in 1968. She is an amazing performer. She is funny, she laughs a lot and she always had a bottle of Southern Comfort on stage with her.
