6 foods to avoid if you have Anemia. If you are anemic, you better watch out for some foods that may interfere with iron absorption in the body. Compounds present in these foods bind with iron, thus preventing your body to absorb iron from your diet. These foods might be healthy, but if you are anemic, please avoid them.

To ensure that the iron levels in your body increase, consume iron-rich foods by pairing them with foods that are high in vitamin C like oranges, strawberries, or lime. Despite doing all this, if you still feel that you are unable to get enough iron from your diet, consult your doctor for iron supplements or other treatment options.

I am 17 and I was diagnosed with anemia, low iron and low potassium back in October on spring break. I was running a fever and chilling as if I had no body heat. The ER had to give me potassium in my IV. Tip: If you have low iron cook in an iron skillet.

😮😢 I started researching more about iron yesterday because I wanted to make an iron rich meal to break my fast. I paired beef liver and beef cheek with spinach and mustard greens along with Japanese sweet potatoes. I love blueberries and eat them like it's my job. Everything on the do not eat list for anemia are some of my favorite foods. Now I feel a bit lost on what I should be eating. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Reservatrol?! I didn’t know! I’m anemic and didn’t tell the md I’m taking a reservatrol supplement. Didn’t think it mattered. They’re doing endless tests trying to find out what’s causing my anemia. Thanks for this!
