Hello and welcome, in this video we will be looking at configuring a DHCP server via the Wizard and manually on a MikroTik as well as configuring a DHCP-Client to obtain an IP address automatically from a server. We will also be checking out the different ways of managing leases on the DHCP server and what a DHCP Relay is.

Great video.. Just curious, looks like you are using a Mikrotik image in place of a Virtual PC. I was just curious as to why you did not use a virtual PC? Thanks, and keep up the great work.

thanks . but how to you stop MAC randomisation by newer android devices and pcs . i get pissed after setting static IP . it turns out that the next day that pc has obtain another IP due to MAC change . thereby bypassing my queues

Thank you for this video, I use my Mikrotik HAP AC2 router, I created a DHCP server (Address: 20.0.0.0/24) for my WiFi guests.
I wanted to give access to my Synology samba server to my Wifi guests but it does not work. When I connect to the guest wifi, I do get an ip address of 20.0.0.85 for example, I can go to the internet, everything works but I can't reach my smb synology server.
On the other hand, if I enter the ip address of the Synology server in the explorer 192.168.0.80, I have the connection page that is displayed.
If you have a solution to join my samba server that would be great.

Is it possible to configure the same static IP for two different MACs? the notebook wifi and rj45 card.

It says I can't add a client because my port is a slave interface. Why can't I just look at leases and not add a client?

Is there any way to relay a specific Client to another DHCP server based on MAC, same subnet, same vlan, just needs to come from my Huawei router otherwise Huawei Link+ Mesh doesnt work 100%
